(14 Apr 2022, 3:13 pm)V514DFT If thats the bridge at the back of bensham hospital then you'll be lucky to fit a bus through it
It's the corner after it that I'm thinking about more.

Maybe something like this?

Green line is existing TB21/proposed 19, red line is what I'd do if the route through the hospital proves unsuitable for buses, then either approach Team Valley from the north, or using Lobley Hill Road to get onto Saltwell road (unfortunately means a lot of backtracking).

I'm racking my brains to think if the GNE mini link M'something' (M29?) or other in the late 80s/early 90s got through it.
I remember it going in to the Racecourse Estate and ending up on Saltwell Road/Belle Vue Bank and on to the QE. But can't remember if it doubled back on itself or continued through the hospital grounds. There may be a timetable in the bygone section.

(14 Apr 2022, 2:40 pm)ASX_Terranova Just ignore the number I've used but why not run this route with a baby solo it would also replace the TB29.
Hopefully the bridge isn't too narrow otherwise the timings don;t work at all.

Just ignore the fact that GNE has two 69' Plate Mercedes Sprinter 729/730 which are usally used on Deptford Staff Shuttle & Peterlee Shuttles

The M29 didnt serve Racecourse Estate, it was the 29 (North Rider Transport) and it doubled back on itself.

They should build a railway station there imo. Just a shame there's a capacity problems so they can't. Be quite popular imo with Bensham / Saltwell on one side and Team Valley on the other side for commuters.

Think it'd need to be near Low Fell RMT. Might work, even if peak only:

(14 Apr 2022, 6:09 pm)ASX_Terranova The M29 didnt serve Racecourse Estate, it was the 29 (North Rider Transport) and it doubled back on itself.
It might have been the M32. Just double checked. That was the number not the M29 that I thought initially.

I think the M32 came back in a revised form late 90s. But that omitted the Racecourse Estate completely.

It was the M33 initially. Then the M29 (and 29) at a later date.

A new link would be handy from Doxford park Morrisons via the new ryhope to Doxford park link road being built at present down to hopewood park hospital Seaham harbour and park side then perhaps up to Dalton park. Perhaps either a 40 or 63 for the route number

You could just start it at Sunderland, and terminate it at Dalton Park or extend the 62 to parkisde with the 63.

63 probs every 30 mins, 62 still every hour

Or Just Drifter Connect. I always thought the 61/62 should be Drifter something. I think what Malarky (if I spelt it right) had loads of amazing suggestions to reform routes but they are going to fall on deaf ears)

60 Drifter
61 Drifter Link
62 Drifter Ranger
63 Drifter Connect

Or something different
