Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes
Does anyone know why the 86/685 has been issued a new timetable starting from today please?
Stagecoach introduced a 2-hourly Hexham - Carlisle service from mid November and this is included in the timetable but I'd imagine, starting today there'd be other changes to the Arriva service than a fancy new map? Of note, the timetable now includes the Haltwhistle - Carlisle 185.
EDIT: I think it is the withdrawal of the Stagecoach in Cumbria 1754 Carlisle - Hexham through Gilsland; now replaced by an 1807 in line with the other services. Due to Cumbria County Council funding cutbacks.

Bit confused with something regarding the timetables for Service 85/685.
Basically, I'm planning a bit of a Hexham-day over the Christmas period as a last minute decision, and I checked Arriva's 85 times. There is one leaving Hexham at 13:22 and arriving in at Newcastle at 14:18. However, after checking Stagecoach's times, there is a 685 leaving at exactly the same time; and arriving at exactly the same time. Very confusing.
I did notice the Arriva times I checked were recent changes, have they taken over this run, or something? Or is Stagecoach just behind in changing their timetables?

(08 Dec 2014, 9:32 pm)Tom There is only one bus leaving at 13:22, which should be a Stagecoach one - the timetables show both operators, the Arriva one is shaded in grey, and the Stagecoach one should have a code near the top

The connection in Hexham used to be a bit risky between Arriva and Stagecoach so I always used to catch GNE'S (can't remember if it would've been a 602/10 or not).
From January the X24 will run Saturdays only, so it will no longer run on Sundays and weekdays during school holidays.

NEW 805
This new schoolday service will provide one morning journey from Brambles Farm Hotel to Nunthorpe (Swan's Corner) with an afternoon journey in the opposite direction.
The service is primarily for the benefit of pupils attending Nunthorpe Academy but will be available for anyone to use.

Great to see us get our dedicated school service after pushing for it! I've not seen the timetable til now but I know a box of 805 timetables were sent to Nunthorpe Academy the other day as I was going to pinch one until we realised they were for the school! lol
