Transfer of Wright Streetlites to Washington for services 26 and 50
Transfer of Wright Streetlites to Washington for services 26 and 50
(08 Dec 2021, 5:58 am)Dan I’d imagine the gradual replacement of the Streetlites with StreetDecks on boards which have large loadings will be planned - indeed one has been converted already for a busy PM trip from Durham.
If nothing else over the last 12 months, Go North East has adapted their vehicle allocation to match demand. Single-deck services have been converted to double-deck in the main, but there have also been services downsized from single-deck to minibus.

(08 Dec 2021, 8:41 am)Andreos1 Gives the depot the perfect opportunity to take a Merc off the road for some remedial work and swap a spare Streetlite on to a peak board off Heworth or alongside the schools?See, I personally find the Streetlite feels a lot more airey than an Omnicity, they feel more open despite being narrower. I think it's because it's a lot brighter inside, and they either are, or feel taller
*flashbacks to when they stuck Darts on the 194*
As I mentioned above, the Omni's don't have that same claustrophobic feel and when one ended up on a 4, it wasn't too much a spacial downgrade from a Merc.

Caught one of the streetlights on the 50, this morning. Lingering smell of badly cleaned up puke on it.
Refreshing to have NSA's, though, even if Emma mispronounced Finchale.

(08 Dec 2021, 11:12 am)Dan 5413, 5414, 5417 and 5418 are the Streetlites which have transferred to Washington so far.
5254 and 5257 are both now at Riverside.

I'm guessing the planned changes are instead of the 15 plates going to Riverside to fill the gap until the electrics come to be displaced to no doubt Washington. They've gone straight to Washington and they've sent the Euro 6 Omnicity's to stay in service until they're withdrawn instead.
(09 Dec 2021, 7:51 pm)KingSlayerRBLX Does this mean we could see a New 26 & 50 Brand?Unlikely given the interworking pattern. Even when the 5 was branded, it was branded on the back of being the "whey-aye 5-0". I'm sure it wouldn't be a bad idea to brand the 50. If it was standalone it might benefit from it but I would think it would be overly complicated to design something which applied to the 50 & 26 equally, when in reality having NSA's and Wi-Fi now is an upgrade in itself.

(10 Dec 2021, 1:33 pm)Keeiajs Coast & Country?Diluting that brand if you broaden it. To be brutally honest, there's nowhere on the 26 you could define as countryside and the 50 only has the Chester Moor - Arnison that I would count as countryside on route.

(10 Dec 2021, 1:44 pm)6049 Keeping the 50/26 corporate does the job imo. It stands out against Stagecoach in South Shields and Arriva in Durham.
