The new service, aimed at making things easier for people living in Sunderland, launches on Monday 4th July 2017 and, until 9th July, passengers can try it completely free of charge. The company says, "there's no need for a timetable as new buses will be along every ten minutes and passengers are also guaranteed the best prices for their journeys when they jump on board." This vehicle, which carries a green variation of Stagecoach's corporate livery to promote more envionmentally-friendly public transport, has arrived into the Stagecoach North East fleet, and is currently being prepared for service. Representing an investment of approximately £7.5m (partly funded by the Green Bus Fund), this batch of vehicles are believed to be in line to upgrade high-frequency cross-city routes 39 and 40. As well as featuring a special two-tone green variant of the Stagecoach corporate livery, this batch of vehicles also sport a modified corporate interior, based around green and yellow hues rather than the more familiar blue and orange.
