Prior to returning to service at Riverside Depot; this vehicle has received "Citylink" branding, with sub-branding for service 57. The livery design has been slightly revised in line with the new features being available on the bus, and the cant rail has been revised to show the standardised design, with the text showing the words "Buses run early til late • Into the heart of the city up to every 20 minutes".
Having previously carried "SimpliCity" branding; this vehicle has been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery, and, following the completion of repaint, has transferred from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street. This example carries the tagline "Our buses run 35 million miles a year - that's like going to the moon and back 72 times". From Saturday 3rd June 2017, the operation of "See it, Do it, Sunderland" service 36 will transfer from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street, for which this vehicle will be a spare vehicle for, in the event that any of the branded Optare Versas are unavailable for service.
From Monday 5th June 2017, Go North East will operate a home-to-school contract on behalf of Durham County Council on an emergency basis. Numbered 5030, the service will operate from Chester-le-Street Depot. As such, this vehicle has transferred from Hexham Depot to Chester-le-Street, where it will see allocation to the new scholars service.
Having incurred defects uneconomical to repair, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Deptford Depot. The X36 service, which operates on an hourly frequency between Sunderland and Newcastle via the North Sunderland estates and The Boldons, is planned to be withdrawn from Sunday 23rd July 2017, and with this would have come the withdrawal of both of the Dennis MPDs allocated to this service. Until the service is withdrawn, its temporary replacement will be provided once new Wright Streetlites enter service at Deptford on "Black Cats" services 2/2A and 39.
