Following a recent £2.8 million investment in 30 smart new Mercedes minibuses for Stagecoach's town services in Ashford, Go North East has acquired this similar Mercedes Sprinter minibus for a four-week trial in their fleet, numbered 9097. Stagecoach announced the launch of the high-spec minibus service, effective Sunday 12th February and branded ‘little & often’, which will provide buses every five or six minutes along routes serving the hospital, town centre/rail station, Kennington and Park Farm.
Following recent service changes which saw this vehicle cascade from Stanley Depot to Percy Main, this vehicle has had its Next Stop Announcement equipment removed. The equipment is planned to be better utilised on other vehicles in the fleet, and will be re-fitted in the coming weeks.
This vehicle has been treated to a partial repaint into Go North East's new corporate livery. The new livery design is a a lot more eye-catching and features a two-tone base livery, with the traditional key colour of red towards the front of the bus, and non-metallic dark blue towards the back. This example carries the tagline "It's our fantastic people - all 2000 of them - that make the wheels on our buses go round and round"

It is thought that "Coastliner" services 306/308 are both being upgraded to "MAX" specification. The existing Volvo B5LH/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 allocation will be retained on service 308, but service 306 will be revised to operate with VDL SB200/Wright Pulsar 2 vehicles, with the existing "Coastliner" branded Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Max Micro-Hybrid allocation deployed elsewhere.

Due to Volvo B10M-55/Alexander PS 20554 (P554 ESA) being withdrawn from Walkergate's Driver Training fleet, this vehicle will transfer to Walkergate to replace it. It has undergone repaint into Stagecoach's Driver Training livery prior to transfer.
Though originally planned to return to Go North East following completion of annual PSV preparation and test; Go North East have obtained enough data from this vehicle to compare it against other competing double-deck vehicle types on the market, and as such, it will not return to service with the company.
