Having previously been stored at Volvo Truck & Bus Centre, Washington, after donating its engine to Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 4925 (X935 WGR), this vehicle is now being stored at Riverside Depot whilst being dismantled for spare parts.
Having previously been branded as "Loop", this vehicle has been repainted into a plain black base livery, ahead of the branding on "Loop" services 93/94 being re-launched.
Although originally expected to be withdrawn on Monday 18th January 2016, the CB1 shuttle service operated for an extended period until Monday 25th January 2016 and this vehicle continued to see use for a further few days following the withdrawal of the CB1 shuttle service. It has now been withdrawn from service at Riverside Depot, and has now been moved to Saltmeadows Road Depot whilst awaiting disposal.
In a bid to provide a younger vehicle and improve reliability on the 434/448 services, this vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot to Percy Main, replacing the current allocation on these services (3859), which has transferred to Riverside in exchange.

In January 2014; Go North East fitted a white LED destination display to Riverside-based Optare Versa V1170/Optare 5390 (NL63 YAY), as a trial to compare against the standard amber displays. Go North East has now fitted a larger display, with more LEDs, to this vehicle, as a trial to compare against 5390's white 144x19 display. It is a 160x24 display, which is the same size used in the rear of the company's "indiGo" branded Optare Solo SRs delivered in 2015, and similar to the displays used in sister Go-Ahead operating company Brighton & Hove's "Coaster" branded Wright StreetDecks.
