Stanley Travel - S813 FVK - 09 Nov 2014 Update: The VOSA change registration for services 706/707/708 is for the full withdrawl of all three services rather than the cancellation for the circulars and re registered as 2 seperate services with the upcoming bridge weight restriction. Stanley Travel - S813 FVK - 13 Nov 2014 Bit of a mishap on the Cathedral bus today. E200 E2 STX and Solo E3 STX had a bit on an accident. E3 went into the back of E2 and both are off the road. E2 needs a new panel at the rear and the solo needs a new windscreen. RE: Stanley Travel - Adrian - 14 Nov 2014 Stanley Travel have Mercedes Various/Plaxton Beaver OO03STX on the 40B today. I bet Durham County Council aren't pleased about that. Stanley Travel - S813 FVK - 14 Nov 2014 And as a result there was a Cheetah on services 706/7/8 DCC wont be pleased but 2 buses are VOR with accident damage so it cant really be helped. I can see them losing the Cathedral Bus services when the contract is up for renewal as they had so many different buses used on the service, although it doesn't help that the electric Solos were totally usless. They have 3 buses for the cathedral bus. 2 solos plus the E200. One of the 3 is for the mealbreaks. Its not going to be very often that 2 buses are VOR. I must admit the depot isnt that big. I do advise them to extend it or move somewhere else. That being said, if they didnt have the correct resources, would theyhave gained the contract in the first place? They'll have given a commitment to run the contract with buses of a certain specification, but I doubt they'd have had to disclose anything beyond that. When the bidding for the contract took place, the electric buses were still used. These were briefly used by Stanley Travel but were later collected by DCC since they technically own the buses. Any company could say that they aim to operate the service using buses which suit the required spec. Stanley Travel obviously had to offer more than the other operators since, at the time, the same buses would be used regardless of who won the contract. Local Government procure on what is known as MEAT - Most Economically Advantageous Tender. Or in simple terms - as much as we can get for as little expense. I do however feel that Stanley Travel have struggled alot due to the loss of Y40. For a company who makes quite a bit of cash, im suprised they havent bought a permenant replacement rather than loan after loan etc. RE: Stanley Travel - tyresmoke - 14 Nov 2014 (14 Nov 2014, 9:47 pm)Robert wrote Which is more than other companies would do. I'm wonder if DCC are providing the replacement resources for the contract or are offering some sort of reduction financially whilst they fail to provide the resources agreed? (The electric Solos) The solos purchased are out of the companies own pocket. As they are a member of RouteOne, they get so many free loans per year and they are certainly taking advantage of this. However, i cant say whether DCC are funding some form of cost. I do however think that the electric solos wont be returning. I did note on the list, it has E2 STX down as being: Plaxton MPD 29 (a) E2 STX BUS SERV 6009. Has this changed recently, as it was an Enviro 200 the other month? Stanley Travel - S813 FVK - 17 Nov 2014 The electric solos have been VOR for ages and arent actually in the depot at the moment. DCC collected them qnd it is currently unknown about what is happening with them. E2 STX is MH07 EPY - the enviro 200 and hasnt changed. Ill also add that there are no plans to get B10 onto the road. I understand however that it wont be leaving the fleet either. I think they are purposly keeping it because of its history with the company (which i know nothing about) RE: Stanley Travel - biglugs@yahoo.com - 20 Nov 2014 S2stx doing 939 today driver proper horrible RE: Stanley Travel - Adrian - 20 Nov 2014 (20 Nov 2014, 6:49 pm)biglugs@yahoo.com wrote S2stx doing 939 today driver proper horrible Report it to Nexus, for them to take it up with the 3rd party contractor. Most likely it will be a Solo and an Enviro 200 or two Solos. RE: Stanley Travel - biglugs@yahoo.com - 21 Nov 2014 Isnt the e200 of road with e3stx they could youse a easy access decker RE: Stanley Travel - Jimmi - 21 Nov 2014 Isnt the e200 of road with e3stx they could youse a easy access deckerThere has been an Enviro 200 on the last few days. Double deckers can't be used as I think there is a weight restriction? All I know is no double deckers on the Cathedral bus. RE: Stanley Travel - biglugs@yahoo.com - 21 Nov 2014 What about that 57 reg bus on x56 with the e200 Stanley Travel - S813 FVK - 22 Nov 2014 Enviro 200 E2 STX and Solo E3 STX have both been repaired and have re-entered service following a minor accident in Durham last week. The 57 reg Centro is no longer in the fleet and was just a loan for a few days.
