Will there be a lot of marketing too including the newspapers showcasing the new agreement? Positive step in the right direction. I do hope with some further changes down the line, there's better coordination during the evenings with the 308 & 309. Can definitely be done of Arriva interworked the evening 306 & 308 journeys, although would be a 10/20 frequency on the main section between Haymarket & Station Road rather than a clockface every 15 mins. The service update on the GNE website for that route might explain why it's registered. Thought it might have been a sign the 6 was moving back to Riverside. That must be a hat trick for the 12, I'm sure it's appeared in the last 3 sets of changes. Apparently Hazel Road is closing for the foreseeable future to allow for building work to commence. The 12 is being diverted so I suspect the change is related to that. Might bring back nostalgia from the days of the 300. I have vague memories of riding on an excel into north shields. I also remember having to walk from cullercoats to tynemouth because i assumed the 75/76 ran a full route on a bank holiday. But no good at 5-6pm. Either the 22 split Cobalt / Hadrian Park (every 20 mins each) or 309/310/311 dropped to every 30 mins each would've solved the Hadrian Park issue. By how much will journey times increase because of the changes. Also have people actually complained about this? Also have people actually complained about this? Probably not.... As it has said before Stagecoach are not part of the QA, so unsure why they keep getting mentioned with the 22 going into Hadrian Park. I have lost off where we are tbh, but am I right in thinking that GNE does not serve HP under these suggestions, and if so, does that mean they have to travel all the way through Wallsend and Walkergate to get to Newcastle, rather than going straight along the Coast Road. RE: Go North East March 2023 changes - Storx - 04 Mar 2023 (04 Mar 2023, 10:49 am)citaro5284 wrote Probably not.... Yeah it was, mind the time difference would be negligible for most people to be fair since the 22 stops all the way through Newcastle whereas the Coast Road services only stop at Haymarket which can be a potential 15 minute walk depending where your going. I'd be tempted to take the trade off personally if I lived in Hadrian Park. Also not sure what's going with the 22 online either as it's just vanished from both the Stagecoach site and BusTimes. The 57/58 took around 33 minutes from The Bush in Hadrian Park to Monument & Market Street. The 22 would take 38 minutes likewise and as Storx said, not forgetting the trade-offs: - Manors - For the Quayside and Ouseburn - Market Street - Grainger Street - Central Station All those a good walk fron Haymarket in come cases! Peter Huntley and to some extent Martijn got it right with Hadrian Park. Peter Huntley did not like the 315/316 doing the 'loop' hence why the 58 (later the 57) & 75/76 (and subsequent 310) were in their particular forms. The 75/76 and 310 actually took some passengers away from the 44/X8/X9 around the Norham Road area since Hadrian Park was dropped. According to the old 315 timetable it took 54 minutes to do Newcastle - North Shields, the reverse on the 316 was 50 minutes. Would the route between North Shields and Whitley Bay justify more buses per hour, given that you had the 300 (2bph), 301 (2bph), 317 (2bph) and 325/326 (3bph) at one point. No imo, unless it serves somewhere difference there's the Metro doing the same route aswell. Marden if anything would prefer a faster bus to Newcastle without going the wrong way but they never really work. Could they have kept the even Coast Road frequency and extended the 307 to Tynemouth & Whitley Bay or would it not be possible. I'm surprised about that, as it's going to be a pretty long route. Although the frequencies work out perfectly, and I suppose it'll save a bus. Also, I'd imagine the 97 part of the route will be much more reliable than it is now, without the short notice cancellations. RE: Go North East March 2023 changes - Unber43 - 06 Mar 2023 Wait, so whats happening with the 97? Really the 1 could do the entire route and just cancel the 97 altogether RE: Go North East March 2023 changes - MurdnunoC - 06 Mar 2023 (06 Mar 2023, 7:58 pm)Unber43 wrote Wait, so whats happening with the 97? I think it would be easy to cancel the 97 and let the 1 do the entire route instead, thus merging two services into one. Surprised no-one else in the thread has reached that conclusion... RE: Go North East March 2023 changes - Unber43 - 06 Mar 2023 However where would u put the E200s, Pehaps you could put them on a non-newcastle route, possibly the 78 tho that has just been rebranded, I don't think they've got enough E200 for the 49/49a and 96, or the 20. Possibly the 60, which means you can displace some Streetlites onto the 5/9/26 loop, as the 15 plates are CAZ Compliant can go to Washington for the 28/29/25 meaning their 17 plates can go to Percy Main. And you would have say 6 E200 for the 60, 3 for the 9, 1 spare. 5/24/26 stand alone, which means you can free up some more streelites for the 2/2A as well the 8339-8346 could be moved permanently onto the 35 with a retrim. However those Versa's need to go and they need to go now, they're awful. Wheels scraping against the wheel arches. 49/49A/96 could get the ex-quaycity versas. |
