just thinking its being nearly 10 month since the changes to the 26/26A/36/36A/99 (now the 29/99/99A)... seems GNE now finally have a good structure around North Sunderland.

Aye, regularly use the 29 to Monkwearmouth and occasionally onwards to Castletown and it carries some decent loadings!

Wonder if they will ever get the Heworth link back during the day... even if only hourly...

Sunderland City Council have announced that there will be further lane closures, including the suspension of the Marks & Spencer’s Bus Stop on St Mary's Way from Thursday 9th October.
Consequently, Services 9, 29, 56, 135 and X36 will be unable to operate via St. Mary's Way and will instead divert via John Street, observing stop 24S12, just before the junction with St. Thomas Street, then direct to Park Lane Interchange via Holmeside.

This diversion is expected to last for approximately 10 days.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by theses works, which are outside of our control.


Hopefully this means they are relaying the whole road again, with markings and that's it for the road, no more work on it so they can get the square done

I imagine this will be for the benefit of casual workers employed at Royal Mail's MDEC centre at Doxford Park.

It seems to match the length of the contract.

Nowt new there then. The 825 hasnt been serving Stanley Bus Station since W/C 15th September because of Capacity issues despite the registration for it to stop serving there after half term - thats the only change...

What does get me is the fact that it wont work. Everybody who gets on the 825 at Stanley will shift to the next stop which is Tyne Road where they can still get on the bus

It looks like the 1434 from Durham will now run from Chester-le-Street Front Street at 1455

I'm sorry to say this but I can defintely see a new order for the X1 to allow the older B9's to upgrade other services or allow PVR increase or accomodate recently enhanced PVR's.

You've said this on many occasions, and I think you've justified your reasons enough behind thinking this.

Whilst I actually agree with it being a decent idea, I honestly don't think you need to repeat it over and over again. I don't think it'll happen, as much as I would like it to...

Prudhoe diversions, no doubt.

I picked up the new timetables for service 8 and 78. The picture of the bus on the 8 timetable has the number 8 on the side and the 78 timetable has 78 on the side plus the route. To me Thepicture of the bus looks different unless I'm blind lol.
