(07 Jun 2014, 7:14 pm)AIG20 wrote [ -> ]I wonder whether Stockton Trainer L37HHN will retire into preservation this summer, as its tax is due to expire on the 1st August.

The tax of the "T** TND" and "T** MVM" registered MAN ALX300s are also due to expire on the 1st August as well, with the "V-plate" MAN ALX300s on the 1st September.

Edit: The tax of the remaining non-DDA MAN ALX300s are due to expire well into 2015.

This gives an idea of the next vehicles which could be withdrawn/ leave the SNE fleet.

I was wondering if we might see the V reg batch reunited on Teesside as part of these cascades - Teesside will still retain a number of non DDAs even once their E300s arrive so would make sense for them to at least be the newer ones

You can't use Explorers on the Newcastle open top service can you?

Don't think so, no.
You can use it on the South Shields Shuttle though, I believe.

Thanks. I paid the single fare on that as I didn't have a bus ticket that day!
Anyone know whats on the 3 today?

Any of the new gas buses out on other services today, such as the 4/10/11/13?

5A and 23 are both allocated Enviro's like normal (know this because they pass my house)
As it's come up in the Go North East thread, I am unable to connect to the Wi-Fi on any of the new gas buses. The first batch of gas buses are fine (although the one I was on was touch and go).

Same provider as Go North East, and guess what.. Same problem too.

I can't connect to any of the Walkergate E400's fitted with Wi-Fi either...

Strange. They're the ones I've never had issues with.
Is it the same problem aureolin described in the GNE thread?

Personally - I don't think the free Wi-Fi is properly looked after by the technicians responsible in all companies who offer it.
(08 Jun 2014, 6:31 pm)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]Dan, As soon as you get chance, I think it may well be worth your while making Contact with Stagecoach North East via the enquiries page on their website & making them aware of the problem, in order that this can be investigated, by their engineers.

If I remember correctly, a large number of the New vehicles on order this year, are to be fitted with WiFi, including the E300s for Teesside, so chances are, the firm installing the WiFi will have been awarded the contract to do ALL of the New vehicles, having bid for the contract to do so.

I am clearly not in a position to know, whether the WiFi installed in the first batch of GAS buses, is the same provider that is providing the second batch.

Clearly, Stagecoach are paying for the vehicles to have WiFi, so I am sure that they would expect it to work properly, otherwise what's the point.

All Icomera I believe, Richard. Same as Arriva (Sapphire) and Go North East.

The problem I faced on the new gas buses was replicated from previous experiences I've had with both ANE and GNE.

They did get them out into service awfully quick this time around, and the first batch had quite a lot of time to be set up and tested. I'd assume this is the reason why this batch is having issues?
Hi Dan. Do you know where 33492 has gone from south shields depot. I passed the depot today but could not see it also 22018 was still in the depot getting Repaired. Regards Robin Goodnight.

Sold to Alpha Recovery (scrap). See details:

I don't know what the admin think, but due to the issue arising on both Stagecoach and Go North East with regards to WiFi, would it be better having a general WiFi issues thread in the "Off-topic bus chat" area?

There's potential for a few things to go wrong with the Moovbox. If you search for networks and can't find anything, then the power has either been disconnected or there's a dodgy connection. If you find the network name "Moovbox" it generally means there's a sim card fault, either it's broken or has came loose, or there's no sim card fitted. If you connect to a fully connected bus WiFI but can't load web pages, it's usually down to some inconsiderate twit streaming video or music on their device, using up most of the bandwidth, preventing other users accessing the service, or the Moovbox is receiving a low 3G/4G signal at that particular time. Of course there's things on the bus itself that could interfere with signals, something that should hopefully be overcome when an externally mounted signal receiver is released.
As for new buses, when they're ordered with WiFi the sim cards are sometimes ordered at the same time, with a planned delivery date/contract start date so they arrive between a bus being delivered and the day they're planned to enter service. If buses are delivered early and enter service earlier than planned, as was the case with Cumbria's Stagecoach Golds, there's a high chance the operator is still waiting for the sim cards to be delivered or for the contract start date where the sim cards will be activated by the network operator.
(09 Jun 2014, 10:23 am)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]As of this morning, I now have the Full & "Official" List of details for the 2nd batch of GAS buses.

Note however, that a number of these, have yet to be delivered.

Details are as follows:

28028 = YR14 CGO
28029 = YR14 CGU
28030 = YR14 CGV
28031 = YR14 CGX

Thanks for the update Richard.

28031 is the only gas bus round the back today.
ALX300 22642 is on the chassis wash, 22078 is presumably back in service after having been round the back the other day, and 22190/464 are still currently round the back.

How many more is left to arrive?

And does anyone know if they have finally changed the 3 to fully gas?
(09 Jun 2014, 11:15 am)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]9 left to be delivered now Michael (28032 - 28040), may be some more arriving this week ?.

That's not many, i thought it was less, i would think so, they seem to be doing well on building and delivering them early. =)

Thanks for the Update Richard, I just updated my Personal Gas Bus Fleet List, And I have Photographed all of the 63Reg Batch along with 28018/9 - 28021/22/23/25 and 29, which leaves with 16 of the 14Reg Batch to Photograph.

And a Question that hasn't been asked in a While, But is 10000 still in Service in Newcastle, if what Route is it currently on as I wouldn't mind some more Photos of it.
(09 Jun 2014, 1:06 pm)Richard Smiles wrote [ -> ]As far as I am aware it is still here & I believe sees regular use on service 38 ?.

What I cant quite understand is why 19199 has been sent On Loan to Manchester, when they could have just returned 10000 to Manchester.

Has been allocated to service 12 the most for the past few weeks:

Thanks Richard, I was planning on doing a Couple of Days out over the Coming Months mainly Focused on Stagecoach and 10000 is one of my Targets along with Arriva, as I don't have many Photos of there Fleets compared to Go North East.
