Interesting to see the Greenroad effect in full swing, if it was a Redcar example.
I would be worried sick, if it was a Stockton run!

Depends if it had gone into limp mode again, though ours tend to be less regular doing that now. Memories of crawling up Brotton bypass early on a morning at about 9mph in the pitch black.... Not much fun!
Blyth like to keep their services going regardless of what bus it is. This is why you will see B5LH's on the X10, MAX Geminis on the X13 and Pulsars on the X4.

Nothing London-ish there, just a Sapphire Pulsar, a GNE red vehicle and a couple of Arriva blue vehicles.

Can't describe much else as I was passing on a 30.

Think Arriva need to be looking at B8RLE'S in the future.
Oh if only!

Not expected at Redcar until at least the end of next month is my understanding at present.

Also reported that some deckers from London have arrived at Thorntons - can anyone go down this week and check what is in the yard?

Would it not have been a good idea last year to send all the Temsas to get refurbed to MAX standard and get put on the routes converted to MAX buses?

1: they'd put some decent seating in!
2: there newer by around 5 years than the omnicitys
3: are they more reliable than omnicitys?
4: omnicitys would go to running normal routes ( 63/64 and others )

Theve got quite a big engine in them aswell if I remember its 6.7 litres                     if only they don't explode when running a X15!
Blyth's withdrawn MPD's 1733,1742,1750,1795 & 1796 are parked outside the back of the depot, where they have been for some time now.

3: are they more reliable than omnicitys? I don't recall any OmniCitys with fire damage in the last 10 years.
4: omnicitys would go to running normal routes ( 63/64 and others ) My condolences to Teesside bus users.

I wouldn't have any single decker on the X14/X15/X18, there's already queues out of Morpeth bus station if people have to wait 20+ minutes for a bus. Single deckers are not appropriate for any Morpeth-Newcastle routes.

The seating in the Temsas cannot be changed - they did investigate that a year or two ago but due to how the present seating is fixed, it was deemed a no-go.

Just seen three Arriva jesmond buses going through slatyford, would these three buses be going to pick up school contracts?

Well done Barry.

I'm sure there's a scholars contract in that area iirc.
What's occurring here like?! (Not NE strictly, but why don't the ones that come here get refurbished to this standard?)

Looks like all new flooring, e-leather seats, two new handrails on the back middle seat, all white poles?!

The answer is on the gentleman's following photo - it was given a second refurbishment after an accident. However, I wouldn't be surprised if all ex-London cascades and standard specification refurbishments aren't done to this standard from now on.

Ah, I assumed it had been refurbished straight away like that, going off the description given on that photo, the next photo along for me would have been one from my search, as I was attempting to find out variations between some different vehicles Smile

It does look very smart like, and from an un-enthusiast point of view, it looks very new...

Also, as they are the same age, I've just compared that to one of the Y-EBR Lowlanders, unbelievable difference... (especially when the Lowlander photo was taken 3 years and 7 months ago)

Currently at my local stops, it is just giving me timetable information and not real time.

Technology takes its time to get to your neck of the woods, citaro5284..!
I wonder if they bring the 57 reg lowlanders back to Ashington for the X20 whether or not they'll refurbish them to the standard of the Daf ALX400 decks (albeit with high back seats) rather than pure MAX and just retrofit free wi-fi?
I'm being told that the X20 will be extended to Alnwick to assist the X18 between Newcastle and Alnwick. Only being told that, can't be classed as definite.

It was a mistake withdrawing the 420

Agreed.
Well there are going to be changes this September apparently.
currently from Ashington to Amble the service runs as service 20 but from Ashington to Newcastle its X20, Wouldn't it be better to just run it as service X20 from Newcastle to Alnwick with the service split at Ashington to save fitting tacographs
