I'd imagine it's a lot cheaper to run a Streetlite on an evening, to what it is to run a decker. If the difference in operating cost over a year, means that the service becomes more viable, then I guess it has it's benefits.
I agree, I feel the same way about the Q3 extra services, the evening one is a corporate liveried vehicle, the morning one is a TEN bus though. Therefore, I understand the reason for the morning bus as it works off a 10A

Can I ask,
Diamond Citaros - but these were considered too large for the housing estate parts of the route. Double Deckers were used on X70/X71 which missed this section out.
Another alternative in Lintz estate would be to route the Nexus R5 and loop back onto its route via Burnopfield Font Street and Rowlands Gill for connectiions to Metro Ctr & Newcastle.

Ah OK, so in terms of width for the buses passing each other, there is no difference now as then, in fact, I think the Omnidekka's are narrower as they dont have massive mirors.

You have to think about it though. Would it be worth branding a bus "Quaylink" for the sake of two journeys a day?

They must know you have a reputation...haha
5416 has failed on Stand D at Eldon square been there since I got here at 5 past 9.

No it wouldn't but a Northern or corporate liveried GNE bus in my opinion is better than a TEN.

The engineers have arrived with 646 and the driver has now gone.
Folks - although we have a difference in opinion, can we please not use this as an opportunity to slag each other off?
When I am back home, I will move these posts to the Transport Photography thread. It's not entirely relevant to GNE.
Seems they are working on the issue on the live map app...
There is an issue with the app at the moment, we have informed the software developers who are currently trying to resolve this. I am sorry.

Yes, that's one of the main problems.
Can't forget Android
Mod note: I've moved a handful of posts about photography, to our '
Transport Photography' thread. It's probably best suited there, given that it's not operator specific.
6043's blind isn't working
6048 you mean...yeah we spotted it earlier and Hanover are coming to have a look at it.

5235 was showing a green square instead of 49/49A yesterday. Destination bit was fine.
has 5401 transferred to Chester-le-Street yet or is it remaining at Stanley for the time being?

The Hanover engineer has been trying to get a hold of the bus for about a week now....think he is trying again tomorrow.

It should be at CLS, as Stanley now has 5409.

I noticed that, too.

Scania OmniDekka 6128 is the first to receive Northern branding.

Hopefully it looks better on the bus than on the site.... lol

It'll be a love it or hate it brand design, I think.
I quite like the modern interpretation of the Northern name, but it looks a little plain at present without any advertisements (given that it is designed to retain advertisement boards).

So has 6125. Photo copyright to Garry Devlin.

Not keen on it, it could be better, even with the adverts it still looks boring.... - although that's not the point of the branding....
What happened to the 11:55 687 from Corbridge?
3941 on TEN from Hexham @13:00 ish (I think it was late departing having arrived late) seemed to 'go well' despite a fullish load (though that was only on the level to Corbridge).

Thanks for letting us know, Davie. Hanover's engineer came out to fix this earlier today.
