It was reported that it was due to be withdrawn - not that it had been withdrawn.
542 was only withdrawn from service this morning (after operating three journeys on services 2/2A) and sent to Saltmeadows around noon.

Look out for more buses shooting over to Salties for a blue repaint over the coming weeks, and keep an eye out for teasers on Go North East's website and Social Media...
Hopefully for the Fast Cats, If not.. I would like to see the 9, 17 or 39 branded again....
Will the X36 be dropped from the Fast Cats?

I'd imagine that it will just be the 53 and 54 reg examples that will be repainted blue and all the older 51, 02 Scania's will be going corporate?

The Fast Cats were only repainted and rebranded about a year ago?
Just a stab in the dark.... as the 19 is currently allocated corporate livered vehicles, 4973 and other Scanias could be recieving a new version of Cobalt branding. 4979-4982 would then transfer elsewhere.

Not a bad idea - 4978-82 could go on the 17 with another couple of Scanias and branded up.

Is it worth branding them though? Considering 4967-4976 were new in 2003 with the B7RLEs new a year later.
I would like to see the Citaros allocated to the more demanding services, Blaydon Racers and The Crusader wastes there ability in my opinion.
Look at the X7 Examples, Still a lot left in them after being on there for nearly 2 years now.

I guess that it depends on how much funding Cobalt is giving to subsidise the service or is willing to give in order to brand up the vehicles.

With the 36 PVR reducing by 4 in May, those Citaros along with the 5 plain silver could go on the X35 with the blue Scania's going to the 61

The 36 is only dropping by 1.
Its the 2/2A which will drop by 4.

Ah yes so it is. That's that blown out water lol. Even still the Scania's could be heading to 61 with the 5 mercs going somewhere else - 28, X84/X85 etc

I would like to see the 61 branded something to do with Dalton Park and Sunderland, especially with the 61 running all night to Dalton Park from the 22nd May.

I personally don't think there is any point but they have already repainted one of them so looks like it's going to be branded for something.
I would say the Tynedale Express but the Solars seem to cope just fine on there, very nice buses. Would be good on the 19 I think, and possibly the 28/28A. I agree no need to be on the 27s or 49s.

From the Northern Road Transport trust:
But for what branding? ??
17 I'm told 4968-76 to transfer
Not confirmed, just speculation.

Including those on the 20's?

Great if it's true
Wonder what the branding will be? Centurion again?
5247 stood expired Westoe Road/Mowbray Road just after five.

Well I can't imagine them painting any of the older reg blue since they are among the oldest Scania's. Saying that the Green Arrows vary from 2001-2004

The Green Arrow is probably varied because Riverside requires all Tacographed Scania's incase of having to cover the X9/X10. Green Arrows Taco Scania's are 4967/5227 and 5228.
I think Riverside's Non-Roof Pod Taco Scania's are all Corporate, Though I may be wrong.

4941 also has tachograph. I believe only 6 single deckers are required to have a tacho at riverside to replace the DD in high winds?
Everything older than 53 reg does not have a roof pod. Of these 8 are corporate, 5 are green arrow

Cheers for 4941.
Enough to cover the PVR.
Yep, 4967 is the oldest with a roof pod, Albeit by a few days.

Why on earth do people insist on cramming onto an already full x21 at CLS? Is it really better t stand for half an hour instead of wait a couple of minutes for a 21?

I tend to get a bus up to Clifford Terrace, and jump on the X21 from there. Avoid the queue.
I am hoping the versas are shortly going from the Q3, just 8312 has had some branding removed...
