I don't think they are available with EURO 6 engines

Solo page on Optare website confirms that a Euro 6 option is available:
http://www.optare.com/solo
9104 is Euro 6, too.

I didn't know that, interesting as the Streetdecks are Euro 6 I am slightly surprised that GNE didn't opt for Euro 6

Believe them Solo SR's on Durham P&R are Euro 6 as the contract specifies that Euro 6 buses should be used.

Bus Operators are still going for Euro 5 Vehicles while they can to save money.
The same Euro 6 Daimler engine in the Solos is also in the Euro 6 Streetlite and Streetdeck,

Euro 6 buses are more expensive than Euro 5, with very little benefit to the operator.
There isn't a Euro 5 option available on the StreetDeck, but Optare are offering both Euro 5 and Euro 6 on their Solo SR models.

The decision to put StreetLite's on the X66 is some sick joke I find, the journey I'm on right now is about two people short of the full capacity (seating and standing). I feel claustrophobic, there is no room for me to move and to make matters worse I'm sat behind the rear wheel arch so the floor is raised up meaning there is little room for my legs and it is killing my dodgy knee.
As soon as I heard this route was getting StreetLite's I predicted this would happen and sure enough it's even worse than I imagined it would be.
Absolute joke! [emoji35]

I wonder how many people will start using the 49? By the time you wait for the X66 to leave and also the 49s are cheaper than the X66 (£2.10 on the 49 but £2.80 on the X66)
So the journey times will probably be similar on both as it also stops at Dunston Riverside which is annoying.

I very rarely use the X66 for that reason (And the fact I hate Streetlite's!).

I use the 49/49A anyway, as I think the Citaro's on them are far better than any Streetlite.

I've been using the 49's between the two points for a good while now.
The improvements to the Western Bypass will probably see me use the car more, rather than faff on with changing buses.

This has been met with people either ripping the p*** out of me with some even showing concern and asking if I am alright. Also the stress and anger of this has left me feeling light headed so I now fear I'm going to black out.

Still have 9 Red Arrows B9s to repaint and brand. Can't imagine they will hold up the Loop branding because of this, though.
