I bet that melted the road.
Good to see GoNorthEast are doing their bit to promote people out of their cars by blocking the A1 Northbound near Blaydon down to one lane.

Noticed the Arriva E400 broken down near Gosforth Park aswell but least that was off the road.

A bus has demolished a stop on Newgate Street outside the old Wilko, two injuries reported.

I'm sure that stop has been hit a few times in the past.
An e400 lost its mirror in Edmondsley this morning, unsure on fleet number

Think something hit it when Wiko was in the process of closing down last year.
Arriva North East 1595, on the 23 to Sunderland crashed at Easington. Driver failed to stop at junction and went straight into the side of a small car.

I would've put my house on a preserved Leyland or Volvo Olympian beating any of that line up!

Agree there's a time & place and that was not clearly looking at it.

Don't know about the incident, bus he's saying a 56 hit a sign under the Gateshead flyover, police are there and he is guessing the bus is a write off.

A 56 bus has hit a road sign under the gateshead flyover on the round a bout ( next to the bit where the kids use there skate boards.  Police there but front of bus crushed. Looks like right off to me.!
A friend of mine was on this bus. She in under the impression that another road user caused this collision and the bus driver wasn't to blame.
It was 6091, that roundabout is an absolute nightmare. Anyone got a pic?

Certainly not a write off, new windscreen, bumper and corner panel and it'll be sorted

Hopefully the driver and passengers on this bus in Leeds got to safety before they succeeded in turning it into a bonfire.
A GNE bus I believe hit a truck while trying to overtake it on Tuesday near CLS
Almost got my front end swiped off by 5371 today in Seaham
2870 has came off the road near Grosmont
what on...

Could've been anything. Looking at where it came off the corner is very sharp. Could've been anything on the road causing the bus to slip or skid.
Looking at other pictures 2870 is looking like a right off
I know the solos are knackered but it's a rather extreme way of getting rid of them.

More seriously, a journey to Whitby on a pleasant summer Saturday afternoon... I do hope no one was hurt.

Reports said that everyone on board escaped without serious injury

That river can get quite high at times.
With the rubbish weather we've had for months, it's been very fortunate not to have happened when it was in flood.

The Google maps image of the location is quite interesting. A Morrisons can heading west and taking a very sharp turn on the wrong side of the road.
