I hope GNE did well and retained most of the work!
Probably just gave them to first operator on the pile.

Or the operator who provided the cheapest price - not guaranteed to be Go North East, when other operators are presumably looking to find work due to the work they’ve lost on the Nexus Miscellaneous Works contracts, so will be very keenly priced.

we know at the least complete 28/29 and the CLS - Langley Park (Hope GNE kept all this)
30/31
and was there not something Peterlee way?

62A and X62.
When will we find out who won the services?
I cant see anyone other than GNE winning the DCC tenders as none of the independents would have enough newish buses in the fleet. I wouldn't use a service if I knew that an 02/03/04 reg vehicle was allocated.

Other than Stanley Travel, Weardale, Arriva and possibly Rurallink / PCL Travel.
The 62/X62 is the sort of route Arriva would want so they can dominate Easington.
My heart and head eant someone like arriva or SCNE to get the 28/29 service, But my pocket says keep GNE unless mutual ticket acceptance can be sorted.

Does anyone know if the 28/29 are gonna interwork
Just they follow the same route apart from the 28 goes to Wrekenton and the 29 goes to kibblesworth. Just wondering. Cause if they are then only 1 company would get it. If it wasn't going to interwork then it could to two separate companies

It's such a shame there aren't anywhere near as many small independant bus operators in the North East or anywhere for that matter. When we had the likes of St George Travel, OK Travel, and Classic etc things were a lot more interesting and their competition would keep the big companies on their toes and would actually help bring the best out of them. Now their is next to no healthy competition for the big companies and more cuts than in an epsiode of Casualty.

Not really same route. Probably less than 50% of route will be same. From Gateshead and probably until Ouston 2 completely separate directions.

Having worked it out on google maps, it will take about 5-6 mins between Ouston & Kibblesworth Direct, so you would probably looking at even headway off Newcastle now as well. The total journey time of the 29 would be around 65 mins so it would have to interwork with the 28.
Looking forward to seeing the new Q3 timetable. As idk how there working it out. Its registered to be Q3/QA/QB. Like the only difference is that the QA/B will go different ways round Great Park but what about the Q3

there isn’t going to be a Q3 as far as I’m aware, just the QA and QB.
What a stupid name for a route QA/QB

NSA is gonna be fun to hear. Could do two different Versions
This is the QuayCity A service to Great Park
This is the QuayCity QA service to Great Park
Or they could do this
This is the QuayCity Q3A service to Great Park

Was registered on VOSA & bustimes.org that it's the Q3/QA/QB
So, I've checked Traveline and managed to pull out some data for the following:
- X5/X15 - No data yet for Sunday times
- X30/X31
- X45
- X70/X71/X72 - No data for X70 with new times, no data yet for Sunday X72
- 6
- 12
- 16B
- 47
Main points observed:
* X30 will run a 90 minute evening service as already confirmed
* X45 will only extend Hownsgill Monday to Saturday daytimes
* 47 will only extend to Shotley Bridge Hospital during Monday to Saturday daytimes
* 47 will only run between Blackhall Mill and Newcastle later in the evening as opposed to Consett
Interworking patterns noticed:
* Appears that services X30/X31/X45 will interwork during Monday to Saturday daytimes.
* Appears that service 47 and services X70/X71/X72 will run standalone (or interwork in their common service groups) during Monday to Saturday daytimes.
* Evening 47 and X45 journeys appear to be standalone.
* Evening X30 journeys appear to be standalone.
* Evening X72 journeys appear to be standalone.
* Sunday 47 and X45 journeys appear to interwork with a 5 hour driving cycle. Looks like both services will get a 13 minute layover at Eldon Square on Sundays.
* Sunday X30 appears to be run by Riverside (as previously suspected) interworking with services 6 & 12. Will be a 5 hour driving cycle.
* Sunday X72 appears to be run standalone (data to be confirmed) either being run by Riverside (with reliefs at Gateshead) or Consett (with reliefs at Stanley).
This is the data I managed to pull
So looking at the changes, my vehicle allocation predictions are as follows
StreetDeck:
- 6301-07 - 50
- 6315-30 - 21
- 6331-32 - Washington Spares
- 6333 - Consett Spare
- 6356-62 - X70/X71/X72
- 6363-76 - X1
- 6377 - Float
E400MMC:
- 6336-37 - Consett Spares
- 6338-43 - 47
- 6344-51 - X30/X31/X45
- 6352-55 - X10
B5TL:
- 6308-14 + either 6334/35 - X21
- Either 6334/35 - Riverside spare
B9TL:
- 6043-48 - Riverside for various (mainly spares)
How exactly are they going to redo the Xlines branding for the X30/1 X45 all together, as they both go totally different places..
(03 Jul 2022, 11:11 am)Jack Gill wrote [ -> ]How exactly are they going to redo the Xlines branding for the X30/1 X45 all together, as they both go totally different places..
Well the dark green XLines livery already says 'Stanley or Consett' so would just need adjusted to remove 'Sunniside' as well as changing interior branding. Text would then change to 'Consett or Stanley - Newcastle'
The StreetDecks for the X70/X71/X72 would just need their Red Kites removed with 'Shotley Bridge, Rowlands Gill, MetroCentre' also removed. Could then change to 'Consett or Stanley - Sunniside - Gateshead - Newcastle'
How easy would it be to fit bike racks to 6338-40? Some good cycle routes on the 47 if it was to be the case of these being allocated to that service alongside 6341-43.
Some of the services are now showing on traveline i've found the 39B
Looks like
X30/X31/X45 - 8
X70/71/72 - 7
47/47A - 6
Not sure on the 6/12/12A, if the 12 is standalone it would be 4, both journeys on the 6 depart from Stand B but the short journeys from Stanley arrive on Stand D which may indicate some interworking of some sort.
Some other PVR's I've managed to calculate
4 - 9
5/9/24/26 - 18
20 - 9
39/39A/39B - 8
50 - 7
58 - 7
61 - 4
84/85 - 5

I can do better.
Not the biggest fan that the 39's are going into Park Lane till late evening, it just confuses people especially now that 73/55 is now withdrawn Park Lane is going to have so many stands free

Hmm, no bus from Newcastle to Consett after 21:25 on a Sunday.
Second X72 of the day from Stanley is 12 minutes earlier and that is going to directly affect me.
I know there's been problems with that particular X72 as when it reaches Cragside Gardens, it coincides with a convenience store's delivery van arriving, delaying the service on some days as the van remained put until the delivery was complete.

Only time that could be an issue would be if NUFC kicked off at 8pm on a Bank Holiday. I'd like to think GNE would extend the later 47 journeys as a one off if that happened or run a later special X45.
