Got a shock of my life when i saw a little pink in wrekenton last night

And according to facebook the first 29 of the day to newcastle either left earlier than planned or didnt turn up at all.
Why on the gne website that service 55 still on the timetable list and also X62 on the timetable list but no timetable and saying it doesn’t run

Its a shambles, you have drivers getting lost and heaps of confused passengers.
I've been to the Galleries and JH are way cheaper.
For someone In grangetown looking at a 39b with a destination of Washington biddick woods displayed would probably think this bus no longer serves Doxford park!!! Confusing!!
Should be
39b Washington via ryhope and Doxford park
That’s my rant

GNE retained the X62 but it only runs in term time (there's seemingly no times at present however once schools do go back)

Cheers for the info, forgot about term time [emoji106]

What drivers are getting lost?

surely if you’re actually intending to get on the bus you’d have looked at the timetable and where it goes underneath?

Driver on the 50 was saying, they forgot to go up and round in Ayton. Plus the two reported yesterday.

You would hope so
Have to wonder how many people have been caught out by the 41A in Howdon doing a tour of Hadrian Park, Battle Hill and High Farm before getting Wallsend rather than doing the previous route.

Speaking of new routes, it seems there’s a bit of confusion as to which 61s are serving Wembley/East Moor Estate too. The 15:46 journey went down Wembley despite it not being schedule to do so. https://bustimes.org/vehicles/39524?date.../288880676

Also I see GNE are still mentioning the 28A on their website timetable section, which unless I’ve missed something, there isn’t a 28A anymore.

It also seems every single X20 this morning went the wrong way into Doxford Park
Just seen 29 heading to newcastle except it had gateshead on the front

Close enough. You nearly had a 81 in Kibby yesterday.
Is the 12A gone aswell,or a mistake on the GNE website

Gone. Replaced by the 12 with a convoluted route around Winlaton.

Look on the GNE website, the 12 that route looks so confusing
Looking on bus times seems a bit easier. It's a bit of a figure of 8 route around Winlation with the bus station being the crossover of the 8.

And to top it off they had a ridiculous amount of short notice cancellations from Washington Depot today, I know from looking earlier one of there runs on the evening 81 is cancelled so there will be no service for 2 hours this evening. The cancelled runs were the 19:21 from Washington Galleries to Gateshead then the 20:14 from Gateshead back to Washington Galleries.
6340 was showing on bustimes on Country Ranger 78 at 19.20 . Not on 30 mins later. I can only assume someone realised the mistake with the low bridge on the new route and quickly replaced it! [emoji846]

Someone realised the mistake at Consett bus station or some mischevious messing about ??

As somebody once asked rhetorically "We tell the traffic commissioner each stop and route variation the bus call at, but do we tell the drivers?"
Not sure why, but it's not too uncommon for buses to apparently track as one service when they're actually NIS

Another backdated example, also the 78: https://bustimes.org/vehicles/40087?date=2022-07-20#
And another for a deadrun between Stanley and CLS showing 21: https://bustimes.org/vehicles/39821?date=2022-07-18
Anyone know why the 81 and 83 are two separate routes? From what I can see on bus times they always interwork at the galleries and follow the same route from there to barmston. Why not have it be the 81 throughout with some journeys extended to Sunderland on Sundays. That would remove the 83 as having the 83 and 83A which operate completely different routes (except the galleries) at different times of day.

The first 29 of the day had its wing mirror knocked off by a HGV that didn’t stop - so did operate, but only as far as Kibblesworth, as the driver couldn’t continue without his offside mirror.

Andreos will be delighted to hear tales of woe regarding missing mirrors.

You're making it up? I thought wing mirror issues were stuff of days gone by? Didn't realise they still happened!

I remember the first time you shared the tales of woe of missing wing mirrors.
Seemed to be an almost daily occurrence at one stage! Whether it be 71s or 20s. Whenever the was any reported issues, it seemed to be down to problematic wing mirrors.

Woah! I didn't.
Almost as spectacular as the wing mirror incident on 7157 in April!
