10/11 extended to North Shields (NEXUS contract) replacing soon to be withdrawn 5. Will be good also as a direct link from South Tyneside to the Seasider with a through ticket that could be purchased.

Do you have better suggestions than what I have come up with, just to note I only the "suggested route 37" would be operated by a minibus with other services remaining double decker operated and from my suggestions have I abandoned the people of Heaton/High Heaton, no I haven't, might want to re-read my post first!
Furthermore I appreciate that the extension to the cobalt was to offer a direct link from Heaton/High Heaton however it doesn't matter what time of day I see the 1 on the Cobalt it runs around empty, last night when I got on it I was the only one it between the Cobalt and Heaton as it didn't pick up a single passenger.
Also given the 1 also goes via Holystone/Benton Asda along the main roads of newly built estates is it going to pick anyone up when all those areas much like Heaton have a high amount of cars users with people living in those areas who are clearly have quite a lot of money. Are those people really going stop taking the car to work in order to get on the bus, I don't think they are if I am totally honest.
As a result of the above is the extension to the Cobalt really financially sustainable for Stagecoach to run throughout the day going forward as I do think it maybe better to have a few journey's extended during peak times only.
The number 1 avoids Holystone and West Allotment using the slip roads. This therefore losing passengers s it avoids it to save time. The 1 in this section needs re-routing and r-timing as it is a clear it wants to compete for the clearly profitable and favourable 51/A. As a local resident in this area, I prefer getting the 51/A as it is right on my doorstep yet the1 just avoids us and the metro loses out due to the 51 close proximity. The 1 will not be profitable in this area unless it serves these 2 villages, as they are losing out to the 51 as it stands.
Other ideas inc-
22- extended to Northumberland park to directly compete with 19.
62- extended to Cobalt
63- extended to Great Park
22 will require extra E400 drafted in from X63.
More E400MMCs ordered for extended 62/63 and to cover X63 too

Can’t see the 62/63 Extension working. Maybe the 22. One I could see extendable is the 38 to Quorum or Four Lane Ends.

1: The section between Coach Lane and Cobalt will be withdrawn and replaced by new service X21.
10/11: These services will be reduced to operate every 60 minutes, and will additionaly no longer serve Cobalt. The Low Simonside to Jarrow section will retain 2 buses per hour with the introduction of service X21 which will offer faster buses to South Shields, aswell as offer daytime buses to North Tyneside.
X21: This new service will offer new frequent daytime links between South Tyneside and North Tyneside. The service will combine with service X20 to offer 2 buses per hour between South Shields and Primrose, and services 10 & 11 between Low Simonside and Jarrow.
The extension to North Tyneside will see the withdrawl of the 1/10/11 sections at Cobalt, although connections to these services will still be available by connections on the X21.
Service X21 will offer a faster alternative for passengers who usually take the Metro or Ferry, and will even serve the major business parks along the way...
Route Map: South Shields - Chichester - Tyne Dock - Simonside - Low Simonside - Falmouth Drive - Primrose Estate - Jarrow - Tyne Tunnel - Silverlink - Cobalt - Benton Asda - Four Lane Ends - Quorum Business Park.
Wouldn't bother messing round with the 1. It gets enough changes already without this suggestion. It will just confuse the people who actually do use the 1. With the cuts Heaton will loose their direct link to cobalt

Anyone know anymore information about this?, its going to be interesting to see if it another services which leaves Sunderland.
Hopefully the Metrocentre so my predication would be:
X14 - Sunderland - Hospital - Hastings Hill - Gateshead - Metrocentre (using the Centrelink)
Monday to Saturday - Hourly with the first bus from Sunderland at 7:30am - last bus from Metrocentre at 7:30pm.
If its a local route, i just can't see where the route could be.
However..
I think the 18 will be completely withdrawn with the 2 buses from the 18 replacing the Darts.
The route from the 18 will continue to be served by other services:
Gilley Law - 3
Springwell/Thorney close - 23
Grindon - service 16 (although Gleneagles road will lose its only regular service)
Pennywell - 8/20 and GNE 39
Pallion/Hospital - 8/10/11/16/20/X24.. GNE 2/2A/8A/35/39/78
Southwick - 3,4,12,13,16
Seaburn - E1,E2,E3 - (23 Dene Estate area)
Sunderland City Centre - A variety of services
