*This still has its LED Destination Display's, unlike the others which had theirs replaced with spare Flip-Dot Displays.
*It has done at total of 41,180.7 miles! Is that a lot for a bus of that age?

Don't think that mileage is correct somehow! Our new Pulsar clocked that up in as little as 6 months.

Wonder how much it costs to shift on the ferry back to England?

Typical that these will start to appear after I've had my annual trip down there. Sad The Citaro artics look really smart in the B&H livery, and seem to cope really well on the 25.

I want to photograph them with B&H but don't know when to go down...!

Did you do there and back in the same day last year? Or overnight somewhere? It always feels like a canny long run, but its not much different to Newcastle - Blackpool, which I do there and back on a regular basis.

I went on the 0130am-ish Megabus down from Newcastle on a Wednesday, arriving at about 6am. Took some photos in London until about 9, then went to Brighton for a few hours. Returned to London, took some more photos for a few hours, then returned on the Megabus home at 3pm, arriving in at Sunderland at about half 9.

All in all, cost me less than £20.

A tad cheaper than the circa. £200 that my tickets cost then!

It's a great place, just a bit of a joke when you've got to go through London and pay extortionate rail fares. I don't think I could do Megabus both ways from London. I feel rough enough on that train home after a week in brighton. Tongue

Still reckon I could do it for £20 mind, if I decided to do it the same way as before.

2x £5 Megabus tickets on a Wednesday, 2x £5 singles from London to Brighton.

I decided not to go out today so I'm just bored and lying around watching Agatha Christie's Marple Tongue

What do you want me to look into?

I decided not to go out after having just awoken about an hour ago - thought it was too late by the time I have a shower, get dressed and then get on a bus somewhere. So I'm doing something productive on NEB for a change!

Anything you like!

I'm gonna scan Flickr to see if I can find any former GNE vehicles Smile
Came across this Optare Excel owned by Bus Eireann (which I assume translates as 'Irish Bus'), formerly GNE 8135.

Any idea when it got replaced within GNE's fleet - I would imagine about 2005-2007?

All branded vehicles new between 2008 and 2013 have now got a completed vehicle history. No photos yet, but that's the last thing on the agenda.

I'm going to have a little break now, but will continue later today. It does make sense to do the vehicle history section for each vehicle in the fleet from newest to oldest, obviously because the newest vehicles in the fleet have moved around a lot less. The branded vehicles are reasonably easy to do, but the corporate liveried vehicles are going to be more of a struggle.
This is 6069's history.
Vehicle history:

> October 2012 - Vehicle branded "Angel", and subsequently entered service at Chester-le-Street depot on "Angel" service 21.

> September 2012 - Vehicle arrived into the Go North East fleet.

> October 2006 - Vehicle repainted into a plain silver base livery, later gaining "Doxford Clipper" branding.

Didn't know it had a secret life as a Doxford Clipper.

Er... pass!

I've typed that into 6069's form instead of 606's. Strange, but I've sorted it out now - ta! Big Grin

On 8294-8301 it says that 8302 will be South Tyne.
More for when you get back into it (providing you haven't already done them)

Can't remember if I've done them yet or not, but thanks - will add those details when I get to 2005. 2007 is taking forever because of these Omnis! GNE's Fleet Archive is a bit patchy and there are fewer photos around on Flickr from 2007 too...

Does now Wink

I've now finished 2007, including the Mercs (which were a pleasure to write about compared to the Omnis!)

If anyone with definite details of the OmniCity vehicles wants to check through the vehicle history section for each of those vehicles, please do and comment with any mistakes there may be.
I really did struggle with those, due to the lack of information provided by GNE on the Fleet Archive document as well as the lack of photos online.
Buses new in 2005 and 2006 have now received a completed vehicle history section, bringing us to a total of 346 vehicles which have got a fully completed history section - approximately 50% of the entire fleet.

A number of other vehicles new before 2005 have received bits and bobs here and there too.
