Hello all,
Just raiding through my iPhone Apps and realised that I had a tonne of travel apps. Thought it might be a good idea to keep tabs on them here and let others know of any updates and developments.
One very useful one I'll share is Citymapper, if any of you are travelling to London or any capital cities of late.

Hi All
I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread to keep track of the various refurbishments going on at our two well known refurb/repair centres at Thornton Brothers, North Seaton (Ashington) and Gardiners, Spennymoor.
Currently at Thornton's are (as far as I know)
Arriva NE: 1502, 4700, 4721, 4722, 4723, 4724, 4725, 4726, 7519, 7520, 7521, 7602, 7604
First Aberdeen: 10170, 10171, 10172, 10183
Go North East: 4898, 4900, 4919, 4920, 4921, 6085
Gardiners will probably need a visit by someone but a bit to start us off...
Henry Cooper: RM1204, RM1735, RM1778

Similar to the Metro and bus threads and inspired by talk of the old lines at South Pelaw and Washington - a rail suggestions thread.
Paths and infrastructure may mean these can't be delivered. Then there is cost - but on a boring afternoon of office based admin, I have identified the following suggestions.
Lines to be re-opened or converted to passenger use:
* Barley Mow to Leamside Line at Washington
* Leamside Line between Ferryhill/Hart and Pelaw
* B&T Line upto Ashington
* Stillington line between Ferryhill and Norton
New stations located at:
* Barley Mow. Ideal location on the county border, located near housing and key employment locations. Mainline and local services can call here on split level platforms. Slow lines to be reinstated on ECML.
* Fencehouses. On site of old station
* Penshaw. On site of old pop factory
* Washington South. Old station site
* Washington North. New P&R site close to Nissan/A1231
* Durham P&R.
* Stockton Parkway. Located on the 'triangle' south of Stockton. Platforms on each side, similar to Shipley. One side of the station would need to be a walk away from the other two – or, the track line is adapted
* Norton Parkway. Located on the 'triangle' north of Stockton. Platforms on each side, similar to Shipley. (This would mean that a whole estate of new houses would need to be demolished).
* Stillington
* Ferryhill. Slow lines reinstated with access to both Stillington and Leamside Lines.
* Peterlee
* All B&T stations as per proposals.
Routes:
· Barley Mow – Leamside Line – Pelaw – Heworth – Newcastle – Metrocentre (1tp2h)
· Darlington – all stations to Stockton Parkway – Stockton – Norton Parkway – Stillington – Ferryhill – Leamside Line - Pelaw – Heworth – Newcastle (1tp2h)
· Ferryhill – Leamside Line - Pelaw – Heworth – Newcastle - Metrocentre (1tph)
· Ferryhill – Stillington – Norton Parkway – Billingham – Seaton – Hartlepool (1tph)
· Barley Mow – Newcastle – Manors and B&T to Ashington (1tp2h)
· Metrocentre – Newcastle – Manors and B&T to Ashington (1tp2h)
· All other routes/combinations to stay as they are, calling at new stations if required.

As last season, would it be ok to us this seperate thread for football results, we have a few Stelling Wannabes and I think it is best to keep results seperate to stop clogging up the main footy thread

Hello All,
I was looking at the current vehicle allocation at the Whitby depot of Arriva North East and was trying to establish which routes each vehicle types are normally allocated to.
I assume the following;
Darts 1103/1104/1105 work the local's 94/95 services
Streetlite's 1560-1562 work the X4/4 services
Dart 1759 on the local Sainsbury's contract
Solo's 2827/2828 and Volvo B7TL on the P1/P2 Park & Ride services
B9TL's 7401-7406 0n the X93
However, can anyone identify what service Temsa 4701 is used on ?
Thanks in advance

It's slowly getting better but it's far from perfect.
It's even worse now on the Seafront now it's a shared footpath without a decidcated lane for cyclists. This now makes it even more unuseable to me for not my safety but for pedistrains partciullay little kids.
However the award for the biggest waste of money has to go to Glasgow...
See this blog. Unbelievable!
Also does anyone else cycle? Anyone part of a club? Anyone on Strava that I could follow?!
