Washington services changes well really number and brand changes
4 still connection4
82/82A renumbered 4A/4B and would join the connections4 brand don't know about 82B maybe 4C

The evening 82/83 journeys renumbered 2E/3E but would still use connections4 buses

85/86 branded indigo Washington

X1 frequency increased between Washington and Newcastle and decreased towards Easington Lane

Slightly revised time on the 5/50 to give more overlay time at South Shields

I've suggested this before, and it makes sense in my opinion.

Run a 7 minute frequency between Newcastle and Washington, with 3 buses an hour continuing to Easington Lane. It'd give the Easington Lane - Newcastle runs a bit more slack, and you could probably reduce the PVR as a result.

The Shiney Row - Houghton section could be compensated by running alternate 4's that route, rather than round Bournmoor and Fencehouses, where the passenger numbers are low.

Huh  Scratching my head wondering why you would observe Heworth/Gateshead but miss out Newcastle City Centre, where by which most of the potential passengers will get on to go to and from Morpeth, really dont see any passengers wanting to do the full route mind, and would be better off being a two separate services.

One of the most pointless suggestions I've seen in this and the old thread.
Getting a bit annoying now.

This suggestion will be good for the company and the customer.
9. Sunderland - fullwell - East Boldon - Boldon - fellgate - jarrow - north shields.
Percy main will operate this service only on a every 30 minute frequency this will omit any confusion with short jarrow runs.
9A. Sunderland - fullwell Grange - Southwick green - carley hill - witherwack - red house - downhill - boldon - fellgate - jarrow.
This service will be operated by deptford on a hourly frequency the service will give another bus along thompson road.
The service will use double decker vehciles monday to friday as it will interwork with school services.
On Saturday most likely solars or streetlites.
This service replaces the x36.
A new link from red house to jarrow that was lost from the 26.
35. Low moorsley - hetton le hole - hetton downs - hougton le spring - Doxford international - farringdon Allendale road - Lakeside village - silksworth sainsburys - barnes - royal hospital - palion - casletown - hylton castle - town end farm - downhill - boldon - heworth.
This service will operate hourly Monday to Saturday and operate as normal to houghton le spring then provide an additional bus to doxford international alongside the x35 then operate down Allendale Road to provide competition with stagecoach services.
The service will then operate to Gilley law and silksworth sainsburys providing a link to the Royal hospital.
This service will also operate on sundays but as service 35B and not serving palion and instead serving Sunderland and southwick.
The service will also after Allendale road serve east herrington and herrington burn instead of doxford international.
The 35B will also be hourly.
35A Rainton bridge - hougton le spring - Herrington burn - east herrington - Durham road - barnes - sunderland interchange -
The service will not serve sunderland and operate direct to casletown via palion.
The service will then operate as normal to boldon before extending to heworth to replace service x36.
35A. Rainton bridge - hougton le spring - herrington burn - east herrington - Durham road - barnes - sunderland interchange - southwick green - casletown.
This service will operate hourly also serving rainton bridge.
The service will operate down durham road and serve southwick but ternamates at casletown.
Service 36 this service will operate as normal to casletown then operate to town end farm.
This service will operate every 30 minutes.

That X6 is hardly an express though Adam. I reckon you're looking at close to 2 hours end to end.

Your X8 would work better if it ran via the A184, A194 and then A1 to junction 60 from Heworth, and didn't bother with Norton and Stockton. You could instead serve Rushyford, Newton Aycliffe, Aycliffe Village and into Darlington.

With the X6 suggestion, if it didn't serve Seaham and went direct via the A19 like the Arriva X21 does you could do it in just under 90 minutes using a PVR of 3. These are some times I came up with when I suggested it before:

Darlington, Tubwell Row - 33
Darlington College - 37
Haughton Green, The Gray Horse - 41
Great Burdon - 44
Stockton High Street South - 59
Stockton High Street North - 01
Norton, Red Lion - 07

Peterlee Bus Station dep - 33

I prefer your X8 suggestion, for obvious reasons also if it goes via Stockton you would have to compete with Arriva's X66/X67 between Darlington and Stockton which runs every 15 minutes although you could maybe pick up a few passengers between these points if you ran via Great Burdon and Haughton Road giving Haughton Road a link to Stockton. Alternatively you could do a X21 styled route running the same between Newcastle and Croxdale then onto Darlington.

Probably in the Bygone thread but how long did the 722/723 used to take from Darlington to Newcastle? I'm guessing a fairly long whack.

Anyway my suggestion(s) for the X22

Current route then Retail World - Metrocentre ( a la 937 workings)

Or change if the 23 and run it the old 183 route, restoring the link for large parts of Harlow Green & Low Fell to the Metrocentre. (You'll still be able to flog purple day tickets to keep it commercially rewarding)

(04 Jul 2016, 9:30 am)Ds1197 Service Suggestions

X21 Newcastle-Bishop Auckland only stopping at Durham the frequency of this service remains the same every 30 minutes

21 every 15 minutes between Newcastle and Chester-Le-Street

The journeys towards Durham would be renumbered 21A and extending towards Bishop Auckland along the current route of the X21 these journeys will also run every 15 minutes

Why would you reduce the frequency on the 21?!

Wistfully stuck in the 90s

(03 Jul 2016, 10:20 pm)Ambassador Probably in the Bygone thread but how long did the 722/723 used to take from Darlington to Newcastle? I'm guessing a fairly long whack.

Just under two hours.

(04 Jul 2016, 4:36 pm)Ambassador Why would you reduce the frequency on the 21?!

It wouldn't, it would have a combined frequency with the 21A so 21/21A would run every 7 minutes Between Newcastle and Chester-Le-Street
