(01 Nov 2016, 9:17 pm)Michael It could be repainted in to new livery before transferring over?

It should be going to Washington along with 5249 for spares for the 5/50 allowing the Scania's to move else where

Could get repainted blue and gain branding to become a branded spare for Why Aye Five-O services 5/50

It's being repainted into the new corporate livery, and yes, it will be a dedicated spare for the 5/50.

Go North East don't really have any branded spares any more - that's not the strategy - the small number of services that do are mainly the minibus networks, or the bus has become spare following a PVR reduction.

Will 5249 be repainted too before it moves over to Washington?

Go North East had an article in their staff magazine about the new corporate livery and logo. It contained an image of the completed corporate livery on a Scania L94 - this can be seen below:

The new livery was designed by Newcastle design agency, Beacon, who have developed many of Go North East's route brands and work with global brands such as Disney.

I think it looks better on the Scania L94 more than the Citaro.

Been like this for a week or more. A few of those displays are defective, so no real surprise.

I think it looks half finished. A big space with nothing in it, makes you think there's something missing...

I agree, needs some text along the main red side panel.
I much prefer plain coloured buses, I'm sure I've mentioned.
Midnight blue coloured citaros and black omnicities for those two weeks. Looked a lot better than now, oh well.

Who operates the 454?
Saw a Vyking being attended to by what looked like a Washington fitter earlier. It may have just been that Washington sent out a replacement vehicle mind...

It's not blank space in reality - there's an advert holder there, normally with an advert in it. See photo below - the only space left is the bottom skirt panel:

An advert!

There's nothing else to come: that is the finished product. There will be various messages for the cant rail in the yellow 'flash'. I think it looks very good - it's a modern design, and the various cant rail messages complements Go North East's commitment to constantly evolving and innovating to give customers a better service.

Hopefully it will be paired with more investment into new technology such as Wi-Fi and Next Stop Announcements.

Seems to be suggestion that it's different to what was in the pipeline, perhaps the addition of advert boards on some vehicles made them rethink certain elements. A welcomed improvement over the previous red though.
