(31 Jul 2018, 5:18 pm)Dan Think you may have mixed it up with 6104.

6103 has been VOR since the end of June - it's currently at Volvo (Crowther Industrial Estate, Washington) having some work done to its engine.

No way Sad . Bit gutted to see that one go down as that was the first ever Volvo B9TL I rode on and even caught it on it's first day in actual service.

I'm sure it'll be back soon.. If Volvo engineers are anything like IKEA meatballs, it'll be delicious.

This post has absolutely nothing to do with the fact I heard IKEA food being discussed earlier on. Nothing. Nada.

(24 May 2018, 1:04 pm)Jamie M Moving swiftly on, currently on a few routes and buses are the new displays present at Stanley.
- 5451 & 62 plate B9TLs on X31, X30, X70, X71, 6, 6A and Short M6 to Crookgate only
- Most buses for short M6 to crookgate only (for Sunday and 2 evening runs)

When are the rest of them planned to be migrated over for all routes?
When is Stanley also going to be following the shift-oriented boards for drivers, rather than the old bus boards? I believe Stanley's now the only depot that operates in this format.

(24 May 2018, 1:47 pm)Dan I wouldn't expect to see any changes to the destination lists now before July.

There's a couple of things in the pipeline, but a lot of what is being done isn't possible just yet (some firmware upgrades are required on each controller). This is currently being tested prior to being rolled out fleet-wide.

The larger terminal point only destinations actually take up more memory than a 'standard' display, and this is proving troublesome on the controllers on some older buses at Riverside, where the database is now quite some size. Go North East have also carried out some research into the display types, which may mean that further routes aren't converted to the large terminal point only display.

Going back to this one, I think most routes that Stanley operate are now in the new larger terminal point only style now. The ex-London B9s and Durham Diamond Streetlites all received a firmware upgrade on their destination controllers this morning, and were subsequently updated with a file that I think(!) has most displays updated.

Within the next few weeks, the Red Kite Streetlite and Volvo B9s are all going to receive new Wi-Fi enabled destination controllers, which is when these will be updated.

And at some point this month, I'll get myself to Stanley on a Sunday to update the firmware (and then displays afterwards) on all of the minibuses.

Great stuff, the Omnicities also seldom have the new display. One or two do.

Just seen on GNE's website that Norham Road Bridge re-opens next Thursday 9th. Will the 309/310 PVR decrease back to 16 vehicles or will it remain at 17 vehicles for a short time (extra recovery time in North Shields but normal timetable) to allow for any teething issues?

I think 5389 has the wrong destination software on it, the not in service thing is 000 when it looks like it should be "Not in service" and the 000 is also visibly too small. Dunno if there's another likewise but I think I saw another versa with the same problem. It's a small problem (haha, pun intended) but there you go.

Both destined for Peterlee (as is 720, when it is delivered).

719 has been in service at Peterlee for a couple of weeks.

After being used at Washington as a taxi (shuttle van), then used for some Next Stop Announcement testing, 718 was temporarily allocated to Washington as a result of their PVR increase (Nexus contract service 23, 2 PVR).

723 still at Washington and should be allocated to the 23 alongside 9089.

718 should be the spare minibus for Washington (along with one of the 10-plate indiGo Solos).

Still got 5206.

718 replaced 5204 (to Riverside) and 719 replaced 5205 (to Chester-le-St).

But 718 never made it to Peterlee so Deptford have been loaning a minibus to Peterlee a fair bit recently as they're effectively one bus short.

5204 replaces 5319.
5205 replaces one of the Waggonway L94s (but neither have been withdrawn yet).
