That's still the plan - for now, at least.
Passenger numbers to be monitored, and, should such a time arise where there has been sufficient growth and double-deck would be warranted, will be swapped for the five E400MMCs.
Unlike the X21 timetable leaflet, there don't seem to be any notes in the X30 leaflet about certain journeys not being Xlines buses.

(09 Nov 2019, 9:02 pm)Wybus A random question. How did the GNE head office in Gateshead come about? It seems quite unusual that it’s just a free standing building that neither has a depot attached nor is a high profile city centre location. Did there used to be a depot alongside it at some point?Yes, the new houses are where the central coachworks used to be.

As posh as your car?
If my car was a rust heap of a y reg Nissan micra, that would hardly be selling the X21 to me.

The Omnicities are Scanias so not that much difference to an L94UB Solar.
No idea about specific differences underneath, but I find the OmniCity's to be a tad more heavier and solid from a passenger perspective, compared to the Wright bodied Solars.

Omnicities have the engine mounted in the rear offside corner whilst Scania L94UBs and Scania Omnilinks have it under the floor at the rear.
