Eurostar
Eurostar
Just put the news on to see there are issues in the tunnel.
Overhead wire problems have rendered one of the tunnels out of action - with both northbound and southbound services alternating on the remaining track.
There seems to be huge delays.

More asset stripping by the tories?
Privatisation of something that makes a fortune for the Government and in turn benefits the public, just seems crazy.
Apparently the Belgians and French think so too!
'A fantastic deal for UK taxpayers' according to Gideon.

New stock and new destination.
(02 Feb 2020, 12:39 pm)Michael Anyone used Eurostar on here?
What's it like, is it worth it?
(02 Feb 2020, 1:00 pm)Adrian I've never used it before, but wouldn't mind trying it.
Looking at prices though, I think it would be cheaper to fly in most cases. Even heading up to Edinburgh and flying to Paris works out cheaper.

(02 Feb 2020, 1:04 pm)Michael Same here, the prices are high but could be worth it, by all the scenery you'll see compared to a flight?

(02 Feb 2020, 1:55 pm)Andreos1 Done it with the car before. Was worth it and priced very attractively.
The flexibility offered if delayed in traffic was appealing too. Particularly as we were delayed in Belgium.

I've used it for 3 journeys now... A return to Disney land Paris and a single from Paris to London.
Have been in premier and standard, and to be honest the standard is literally the same as Premier just without the free food and drink. Same seating or very similar if there is a difference I couldn't work it out. Just not as many customers in Premier than standard.
Quite reasonably priced if you can book in advance. And obviously ideal for Disneyland Paris. The station really is in the Theme Park Entrance.

Eurostar saved by French and Belgians?
(18 May 2021, 9:10 am)Andreos1 https://www.politico.eu/article/eurostar...ssion=trueHopefully the two national railways own some of shares. I think we sold ours to international investors in the 2010s under the coalition.
