Thread for GNE general Convesations

I saw this old post off Ambassador

"Purely anecdotal but thanks to Gateshead Council's appalling approach to traffic management, I've used a few buses over the weekend and noticed something interesting with the 21.

Whenver the Brandon and Durham 21 pulls in people let it go and automatically go for the 21 - it's almost like they auto programmed to hop on the CLS one as they think Durham and Brandon is an express. I hopped on a D&B 21 from Gateshead this morning which was tailgated the whole way by a CLS 21 and people were either letting ours go past or in the case of the Cannon, walking past it to get onto a the CLS one."

And in my opinion its not just the 21, its the 21 or X1 into Newcastle. 20 to Durham instead of the X20. X21/21 to NCL rather than X22 to Metrocentre.

16 to Consett rather tahn the X5.

That people will always use certain services even if one is faster. such as the 20 over the X20. 21 over X21.

people let the 25, 29 and 28b go past along low fell to get ANY 21! Also doesn't help that the 28b that serves low fell from Newcastle stops at a completely different stop at Gateshead M to the 21. ive been the only customer on the 28b and when we passed the 21 stop at gateshead M there been 25+ waiting for the 21. Granted they may want to go to where the 28b deosnt serve but i bet some would be just going to low fell!

Yeah the 28B stand makes little sense with it serving both Low Fell and Birtley

I do wonder if its a hangover from the days of the Go Northern 221 and Classic Buses 21 where they were THE route and Durham was confined to the exotic Arriva X1 and the 722/723/724 runs and people are just programmed from parents/grandparents to use the 21

Wistfully stuck in the 90s

Its the fact I suggested a idea and why that would be good and you just snapped back. And not even listened. No one brought up North Korea...apart from you.

EDIT - Oh and someone deleted my previous message.......maybe it is a bit like North Korea...and overly moderated..

...in the relevant thread, where it should have been posted. The design of this forum has nothing to do with buses through Low Fell.

We've always had a very relaxed approach to moderation on this forum - it's something we've took pride in compared to other groups with militant rules and mods who delete posts which aren't appropriate/don't abide by their rules. When people use common sense when posting, their posts don't need to be moderated. Make of that what you will.

In fairness, I did already explain to you in another thread why we have the individual thread per topic/service changes system - that the mods implemented it to stop the threads becoming ridiculously long because it caused technical issues. So you could have taken that at face value and not started making more generic threads lol.

I can't recall that.

And threads becoming 'ridiculously long' Service suggestion V2, they could easily do that.

Well you can see for yourself here: https://northeastbuses.co.uk/forum/showt...p?tid=3719&pid=268583#pid268583 it was only 8 days ago and you even responded to it.

So then we end up with Upcoming Service Changes V2, V3, V4 and you think hmm I want to look back at posts from the September 2020 service changes and have no idea where to find them - much less clear than just splitting by topic. Service suggestions is different cause it's not actual news it's just people's ideas so they're better all in one thread out of the way.

Ultimately, if you want a forum with long threads I suppose you're welcome to set one up yourself.

What about the upcoming service changes in the Stagecoach Forum, that is where I got the idea from, if it was okay then I thought it would be okay in the GNE section.
