It appears South Shields Depot have had quite a few intruders lately:

39722 was pictured on the 1st January with Graffiti all down the site of it:

A bus was stolen early on Sunday 6th January and crashed on Newcastle Road outside Simonside Tesco:

Does anyone know which bus was stolen and how bad the damage is?

(13 Jan 2019, 11:34 am)ifm001 Did 36473 not transfer from Shields as yet. Its out on 17/18 today.

(13 Jan 2019, 11:52 am)S830OFT It was supposed to get a engine refit then transfer allowing 39715 to come the other way but it seems to not have happened yet.

That transfer has happened now I believe.

Sun Ops: Unfortunately, due to the severe delays of up to 30 mins getting across the Wearmouth bridge, svcs 3, 4, 12, 13, 16, 23 are going to divert via Green Terrace, St Michaels Way, Silksworth Row, Queen Alexandra bridge, Queens Rd heading Northbound only

SS Ops We are still experiencing delays of up to 30 mins to Eco services. Please ensure you allow plenty of time for your journey. Some svcs may be cancelled at short notice. We are utilizing spare drivers and vehicles where possible. Thank you for your patience.

Would be nice to see them brand a bus up for this, similar to Carlisle's 37107

Does the X20 interwork with anything or is it just a case of extra buses on there to combat any late running?

Yes I believe, previously the 10/11 were stand-alone and had large layover periods which is why the buses allocated went back to the Depot for driver changeover.

Following its roll out with the Southern Division, South Shields are the first 'Busways' depot to begin rolling out the 'updated' Destination display set-up - a handful spotted today. One change from the old format is the use of 'South Shields' as the ultimate destination on 17/18 instead of the previous 'Market'
