(04 May 2019, 12:47 pm)Michael Yup, still think they should remodel the zones, hopefully that happens if they take over any Arriva routes....
To be fair though, even if I only travelled within two zones, I'd still get the 3+ zone ticket. I'd rather have the ability to go anywhere and not be trapped in the confines of two completely illogical zones

(04 May 2019, 12:25 pm)Ds1197 X30 got a low bridge on its route

The low height Gemini's would get under the bridge in Dunston no problem. That would be the whole point of GNE taking them.

On the other hand, could see the Red Kite B9s ending up at Ashington for the X20 (or whatever number GNE use instead). They'd be ideal with their low mileage.

Redcar have been using their own buses. As for Stockton - the PVR only drops by one, hardly enough to cover the requirements.

Also buses from Durham - 1510 is now out on rails.

Lots of confusion on the Arriva operated metro replacements today.

Service 901 operating and displaying 900
Incorrect bus stop being used as the turnaround point at Brockley Whins.
Completely omitting Fellgate Metro Station
Completely omitting Central Station

A vast amount of disgruntled passengers this morning on what should have organised replacements.

The issue I think is ANE mostly operates in the two least densely populated counties, so with a lot of their routes being quite long and they don't necessarily have the passenger numbers to support them, it makes it quite difficult to make a profit.

Scroll up to post number 26 and work your way down Wink

I expect that if there have been any bids, there will be a consultation process, then if a decision is made, there will be a press release.

I'd honestly much prefer Go-Ahead to buy Arriva, but I highly doubt that would ever happen

An update on some actual news...

1479/95 returned to Jesmond earlier today
1480/97 are spending a second night at Stockton - both have been out on rails today, 1497’s appearance being brief. They are being returned tomorrow
1509/10 are also still parked at Stockton, unused today - they are due to be collected tomorrow

1915, as I understand it, has now been taken out of use - despite Durham still having 1463 (back) on loan. This, I’m led to believe, is due to the move to Ticketer as of today - 1915 had not been fitted with the wiring required (mainly due to the fact it should have already come off by now). This therefore leaves 1922 as the last Cadet standing.

How long is 1922 expected to remain in service?

If your going to quote me atleast do it right man!

1915 is VOR until Tuesday. Ticketer wiring and machine were installed this morning!

The reason 1915 didn't have the wiring fitted was due to the fact it was out of fleet when the rest got done. Due to 1463s disappearance (Thank you Durham) it got a stay of execution!

All loaned buses will be returning to their home depots. Be another three weeks before the next loans arrive... Wonder what they will be Wink

1922 will be around till at least July if not longer!
