Seen this on Dan's Twitter this morning.... when someone mentioned about the B5's going on the X84/X85..

I wonder whats been allocated?

Its mentioned on a couple of facebook groups that the X1 are now getting Streetdecks and not the ADL's

Makes more sense to have the E400MMC's at Consett for the X45/X46/X47 & X31/X70/X71 for Depot Standardisation purposes than having a mix of different vehicle types across said services.

Not 5, the new plan calls for the X70/X71 to once again inter work with the X30 at Newcastle. Will the hourly link from Stanley to Consett remain?, in my honest opinion, not at the current times. Heading for Newcastle the 16 runs 2 mins in front from Catchgate and heading to Consett it's on stand and loaded before the X30 gets in from Newcastle.

Well.........the E400MMCs aren't all going to Consett. So given that GoNE have sorted the issue of an unsuitable vehicle type on one route (X9/X10), perhaps they'll do the same for the X21.

On here probably just Dan. Gne staff know what's going where with new vehicles but cascades weren't mentioned, and in all honesty to most drivers who have no interest in buses dont really care.

I might have missed something, but where are the X9 | X10 deckers going?
There are currently 7, which 2/ 3 could be used for spares at Consett and the rest used for either the X5/ 15 instead of refurbishing B9TLs. As all they’d need would be a repaint and some vinyls and they’d be fully suitable, because they’re already in X lines spec.

Your guess is as good as ours, they were rumoured to be going on the X84/X85 but then it was hinted they weren't so no idea.

The Black version of the X-Lines, is the X-Lines spare livery.

I'd reckon the X1 will get new StreetDecks.

I've tried working allocations out but impossible and will wait until revealed. But can work out the E400MMCs from an educated guess. They'll certainly be a big help in terms of improving reliability and reducing lost mileage on the X21(?) particularly with the West Auckland extension. And the extra oooomph will help with the steeper parts of the X70/X71 too.

I genuinely hope we don't end up with the E400s on the X21, As much as I like them, I despise the fact that they're low height!
If they'd ordered the full height versions I'd have absolutely no issue with the X21 getting them

Height isn't ideal but I believe both Stagecoach and Arriva have by majority stuck with low height versions (correct me if wrong) including classic variants. Only full height version examples in the NE have been Arriva 7501-7513.

I don't think the X21 is "just an idea" although I could be wrong. Just going off what StanleyOne said about 5x not going to Hexham and a split depot allocation as well as the rumoured X30/(X70/X71) diagrams. Plus GNE re-allocating any problematic vehicles as they have done for the X9/X10.

The new ones just feel cramped upstairs

Low height version although a pain if tall aren't too bad. I'm 6ft1 and never had any problems on any of the low height E400s, OmniDekkas or Arriva's VDL Geminis / B5LHs based or previously based out of Blyth.

Even though the X20 has already been extended to Langley Park, I think GNE missed a trick where they could have combined the X5/X15/X20 all together. I think 673 - 678 would have best remaining on the X6/X7, and possibly extending the service to South Shields via Roker/Seaburn, along the coast to compete with service E1. I will make a service suggestion for that one...

I’ve already sent GNE a suggestion about merging the x20 with x5/x15 awhile ago.

Can’t see GNE re entering Roker/Seaburn since there pulled out of there years ago.

If double deckers arrived for service 20 and freq reduced to every 15 minutes and have the service continued to Langley park every half hourly to replace 13/14 and the other half hourly to consett to replace x5/x15 and cut the shields to Sunderland section , and have the shields section used by extending the 60 to shields
