RE: Enviro 400MMC's for the X9 and X10
(18 Jan 2022, 12:55 pm)Adrian wrote Do Newcastle to Dalton Park and back? You'll get a decent run on the A19 that way, and it's just over 20 minutes wait for the return journey back.

Probably won't have time, so just thought it might be possible to get on it for one stop just because the coaches are going.

It is. There's nothing stopping you doing Newcastle to Gateshead.

How long has this been the case?

Just because of a lack of time, otherwise it would have been a good idea to go Newcastle to Dalton Park and back.

Since Go Zones were introduced.

An X9/X10 North day ticket is a £1 more expensive than the Go Zones All Day ticket at the moment, due to the ongoing Summer fares offer from last year, but they're normally the same price.

Yeah I'm getting an X10 North ticket and hoping it's valid on all Go North East buses, as I was originally getting the All Zones, but now want to ride on an X-lines coach before they go if they are still on.

Hmm i wonder how long ago that was. Just i remember me and the fun police getting the x10 ( i think). it was going to the boro and when we got on he queried me with my purple day ticket and her with her all zone network1 bus pass. We both said Gateshead, he gave us a funny look and nothing more was said. We were the only 2 to get off at Gateshead though which inst normally the case on any service we get across tyne.

It must have been in 2019 as I was still using The Key card for my tickets, and my payment dropped from £110 to £95 because I wasn't using the X9/X10.

I remember at the time asking customer services if I could still use the X9/X10 between Newcastle and Gateshead and they told me the ticket wasn't valid.

The Summer fares offer has been ongoing for so long now that passengers will assume that they are the normal fares - I don't see how they can revert to the old ones now without upsetting many passengers, who will be feeling the squeeze with all the other inflationary costs.
Enviro 400MMC's for the X9 and X10
Can an admin change the header of this thread, so it doesn’t say enviros for the X9, as the x9 has been withdrawn

Bus times says it is on the 10 this morning.

Sorry to contradict you, but 6337 was indeed in Eldon Square at around 4.30pm on service 10. 6943 was also there, putting in a rare appearance north of the Tyne, seemingly on the X1A. Saw them both as I headed for my 308 home.

Wait it was actually on the 10. The times I've seen it. It's wrong tracked as a Tyne Valley Ten

PVR is 4 (4 hour round trip with 16 min layover at each end).

6377 or a B9TL will most likely stand in as needed.

or likely 6337 if it gets transferred over from Hexham or unless that goes back to Consett

Consett would be the most sensible option for 6337.

I wouldn't say so, it's not as low as the rest of the E400s, so it'd be the obvious choice to go with the X10 if they wanted the same type as a spare

RE: Enviro 400MMC's for the X10
Ik this is for the X10, however they have came off the X84/X85

The main reason I think X85/X84 lost over the train is when the train was every 30 mins it was, compared from X84/X85 which left within 5 mins at Hexham - Not to mention that while it was direct going Via Central Station may have helped them. I Don't see why they didn't use 6337 as a always in service bus, to give them a every 30 mins frequency with the X85 having a PVR 2 with 5 mins a each end and the X84 having a PVR 3 and sending it a local way through Darras Hall or somewhere extra to give them a 20 mins lay over at each end.
