I had to get off the X21 early because of a bunch of youths shouting and being generally disruptive

Despite the apparent low skill, it does take some good people skills for drivers to deal with some extremely difficult passengers. Just look at the shit that arriva drivers in Darlo have had to deal with, recently. I've witnessed a driver deal quite expertly with some foul mouthed guys bragging about their jail time in very colourful terms on an arriva 56 but had to talk down a young man who took umbrage at a driver's rather aggressive demand for ID (with rapid escalation while the young guy was clearly a bit confuddled by all the aggro) when the confrontation was clearly stressing out big'un and leaving a guy in front of me, reliant on 2 sticks, standing for far longer than necessary. No amount of training can give someone the people skills of the first driver but I do appreciate that the driver who mucked it up  had had to deal with several dozen genuine chancers over the preceding week and was probably at the end of his rope.

I'm surprised they've taken so long, tbh.

And I’m sure you’d be equally peeved if I said you were no better trained than a HLTA, as I was that streetdeckfan said bus drivers are as unskilled as a checkout operator.

It has gone rather quiet from streetdeckfan, has he gone trolling elsewhere?.
Could all this discussion about whats on peoples CV's and how skilled or unskilled each others roles are not be moved to a more appropriate thread?

I much prefer the placement of the GNE logo (with slogan underneath) as applied to the newly painted corporate examples: https://www.flickr.com/photos/27974644@N...ateposted/

..compared to the placement of it on the Cobalt & Coasts: https://www.flickr.com/photos/127079988@...CM-2hgp8EE

I think with the Cobalt & Coasts having the slogan on the same line it just looks like a really long logo with too much text. And I find it weird that the route name is then displaced up to alongside the advert frames.
I believe it was explained the Cobalt & Coasts had their GNE logos placed on the lower body panels to match the placement of company logos in the Brighton & Hove & Go North West divisions - I could be wrong? However as this theory then didn't follow through to the new Green Arrows livery, (or 2019 corporate liveried deckers), do this mean the decision was reversed? I just wondered and couldn't remember seeing anything on here about it.

Wasn't it to make the GNE logo more prominent as it runs along side some Arriva services

Really? I would have preferred consistency.

Wasting your time - it's VOR awaiting Plaxtons to come out to it.

Just noticed that the X21 is no longer referred to as X-Lines on Google Maps, and the colour has now changed to red from blue and gold.
At least it now says that it terminates at Eldon Square rather than Haymarket!

Also, has anyone else having trouble getting on here today?
I keep getting

Is anyone else getting a "Resource Limit Reached, please try later"  message when trying to access forum site ?

Yes, a few times, it started yesterday.
It seems this Xlines X30 repeats it's route & destination at each stop too Sad

Most, if not all of the GNE stop announcements do that.. it is annoying but, it does help the blind or someone who has no idea where they're going.

The X30 has it's NSAs back? They haven't been working for the past week and a half or so whenever I've been on

No, I’m aware they announce their route and destination at each stop - I’m all for that.
The problem is several vehicles announce it while the doors are open, and repeat themselves seconds later as soon as the doors shut. That’s what’s annoying.

I believe at one point an update was rolled out to prevent the announcement playing while the doors were open, but for whatever reason a few Angels, Cobalt & Coasts, & seemingly X30s are announcing their route & destination twice at each stop.
