Talked to the driver on tonight's 939 and he confirmed they have BP14 FKJ off road as it is in for test, YX06 CTV has been sold and they have gained the R5 from July. Im thinking the bus on the 939 will therefore interwork with the R5, resulting in the bus on the 99 being standalone. It looks like they will have to buy a new bus as they will have no approiate spare bus to cover.

Which bus type operates the 939 for compass?

Tonight was the Bluebird (YX09 EUD) but the prime allocation is the Merc Sprinter.

I assume the R5 will be interworking with the 941 as part of the same contract.

New in at Compass is a 63 plate Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, same standard as BP14 FKJ.

I gather this is for the new R5 service they gained.
The 63 plate Sprinter is BG63 VUW, previously with EOS of London. It is strange how Compass are now opting to go for Mercedes-Benz for service work, opposed to the usual purchase of Volkswagen Minibuses.
MX06 CTY on 8X this evening, Apparently the 941 runs out of Blaydon depot with a 08 plate Vauxhall shed spare.
MX06 CTY also worked tonight's 939 off TVTE at 1609.

It's a step entrance minibus (shed) how do Compass get away with this allocation? Not to mention they put a A4 piece of paper displaying the Route Number.

That crossed my mind but it only has 12? seats and there is space in the back. Could a wheelchair be put onboard through the back doors ?
See this Youtube for a view inside at around 0m10s to 0m16s

Note the video is nothing to do with me. I just found it on the web.
Not sure how compliant this makes the vehicle.
All the seats were taken on the 939 tonight as we hit the A1.

It's my video, the 939 is a very strange route for allocations as CCT use a Minibus, GCT use a Taxi off the TB14 and Go North East use a Decker. I think Compass need to purchase a real bus (Optare Solo) would be ideal as those Merc Sprinters remind me of Iceland Delivery Vans.
PCL Travel have SN56 EMK on the 99, is it Compass operating it or PCL?
The Merc Sprinter is back on the 8X, does this mean SN56 EMK has returned to PCL?

I sure hope this service doesn't end up with a minibus allocation as it gets decent loadings.

Might've only registered some ops, maybe 1 a day to replace the 941 as GNE picked it up
New in is NA55PUO a Ford Transit.

The 2 Merc Sprinters, MX06 CTY are the only buses that now see Service.

It has gone back to PCL. Compass have a coach which they got from White Star. They've also got many non psv minibuses.

Just had a look at the Nexus Timetables and seems they've picked up an evening 92 journey but lost everything else. This seems pretty pointless, unless they plan to use the bus on community work during the day.
