Like what service will replace the gilley law to moorside section

5/5A, like now, as the City Centre to Gilley Law section is ran on a commercial bases by Stagecoach on a Monday-Saturday day time.

On evenings and Sundays - it will be the 77 or 77A - running hourly - NEXUS funded.

Edit:

However, i was wondering if the 5A would be dropped, as the 5/5A do the same route until the city centre then split off to the docks.... it would seem a good idea to drop the 5A.

I would imagine so, its only the City Centre - Docks section of the route which are dropped from the Monday-Saturday day service.

The contract for service 8X (and the scholars/workers services it interworks with) comes up for renewal in July.

I'd suggest that Nexus have probably stepped in to offer a limited off-peak service, utilising the same minibus which is allocated to scholars 836, Team Valley workers service 939 and evening service 8X, giving residents of the North Sunderland Estates a direct bus to the Royal Hospital.
Does anyone have anymore info on the 99, like a timetable, route map etc?

I like to know where its going to turn around at the Hospital and the shops at Hylton Castle shops?, i don't remember anywhere to loop around in those area's unless it goes not in service to turn around.
An enthusiast driver from.compass has told me that yx08kxo roof went to sf56dny and yx08kxo got turned into a motorhome
The new fiats that replaced some ivecos has gained ticket machines to act as an emergency spare for there service work.
Also yj08pku will see more use once cct get a new contract i believe this is the 99 but he wasnt 100% sure but it so use not this monday gone but before on the 939 yet its in an all white livery.

Be interesting if it does, wonder if they've decided to change the VOSA registration so it starts at the prospect instead of the Hospital.

Although it could be driver talk, no news has come out for the 99 yet.

He said they aquired 5 fiats with ticket machines so if this has anything to do with this.

Not sure, the PVR won't be 5, it should be 1, depending its route and timings.. Which we don't know yet.

They could of gained a couple of other services, I'm not even sure what services they provide.

Hopefully sf56dny isnt used and the solo can be used
Today yx09eud was on the 939 instead of sf56dny i think sf56dny should be the spare as yx09eud has bells

The new 99 timetable is now available on the Nexus website here.

Timetable is quite crap for it, nothing after 2pm at all.. pointless, it won't last.

It's exactly what I said it would be - a limited off peak service providing a direct link to the hospital from the North Sunderland estates, using the same bus which is allocated to a scholars service, 939 and 8X.

At the moment, that bus does nothing during the day.

It will be one of those Volkswagen or Fiat minibuses allocated, as the 8X has a maximum vehicle length contractual requirement due to the nature of the route in South Hylton.

Spot on - an all day service until 5pm would cost too much as it would require another bus to be able to run their existing contracts, which would probably push the costs of the 99 over what they were willing to take on. If it fits between existing stuff then you're only really needing to cover the wages and fuel... Am I right in thinking this is a commercial punt by Compass CT?

I would think it is a short-notice emergency contract to cover what is deemed a 'socially necessary' service, as opposed to a commercial venture.

The early morning 99A journeys remain operated by Go North East (secured by Nexus), albeit now numbered 135/136.
The new 99 timetable at the bus stop at Hylton retail park confirms the route it will end at: Plains Farm, Premier road.

Sf56dny has got new tyres and a wash.
This might make compass make a good fist impression.
Sf56dny has re entered service on the 8x with new leds and a full wash.

YJ08PKU was operating the 99 on Tuesday. Didn't know they still had this.
