On a more serious note, does this suggest a PVR increase as you've previously mentioned in relation to these new E200s?

There is talk of a PVR increase but as to what services are to get it is still very much under discussion.

Jolly good - interesting times ahead then! Smile

(27 May 2014, 8:50 am)AIG20 wrote However, the majority of the new E200s have had their regions and depots allocated - with two for South Shields (37143-37144) and two are left unallocated (37289-37290) - with one possibly for South Shields depot. For more information visit this thread here:

Though, from now on I think its best we try to not say much until July - when they actually arrive. Smile

When I spoke to my engineering manager he told me that he is only aware of 2 new buses for South Shields as he was asked about some of the specs he would prefer to have.

22078/190 both on service 4 today alongside another ALX300 and a Pointer 2 Dart.

A "SUNderland Bus" branded E200 is also on service 13.

Make that two branded E200s on service 13. 36966(?) is on too.

(28 May 2014, 2:39 pm)AIG20 wrote South Shields Reserve 22734 has been currently sat at the Marsden Inn for the past 15 minutes.

Edit: It has now replaced an E400 on the X34.

Do you know when it is due back at Shields?

(28 May 2014, 3:09 pm)AIG20 wrote Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure, but the working was running approximately 15 minutes late, so I guess it will be due in approximately an hour or 1:15 minutes from now.

I've never been on the X34 all the way to Newcastle, but if I had I would have known better as I would have recorded how long the journey took.

I've only used it between Boldon and Newcastle. Think it's due back at Marsden for 1655? Only one way to find out...

Edit: The 1615 from Newcastle is running 20 mins late - that'll be the one I'm after!

(28 May 2014, 5:00 pm)AIG20 wrote I wonder whether the remaining E400s will be taken off to operate the "E" services (like they did last year) once the "1D" concert has ended - as according to the "Sunderland Now" Facebook Page the traffic is absolutely chaos around the Wheatsheaf area.

19194 is already on.
19196 would have been on the X34 today, and 19197 was the one which was taken off at Marsden earlier (presumably to later go on Ecos - was in the depot at about 4pm).

Very chaotic at the Wheatsheaf.

Yup - cheers for noting it or I probably wouldn't have managed to get a photo!
It only turned up 25 minutes late, so not too bad... Missed the 17:15 E2 back to Sunderland despite the X34 being due at 16:55... Undecided

19194 was replaced by 22734 at 15:35

19197 broke down in Gateshead at 12:49 and was replaced with 39709 at 13:19 and 39714 was used to correct the service at 13:15 from Harton Nook

19196 operated all day on the X34 and has since replaced 27731 at 20:29

Ah, only assumed 22734 replaced 19197 because it was still wet and looked like it had only just come into the depot when I was there at around 1600.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Rare and odd workings
X34 workings are so easy to work out.

45 mins each way so return is 90 minutes.

3 x E400 vehicles usually. Example 19194 leaves harton nook at 0900 19196 leaves harton nook at 0930 19197 leaves harton nook at 1000 and 19194 is back at 1030. Dead easy.

ADL E200 36475, which is on the 17/18 today, has been sounding terrible for quite a while (mostly a horrible vibrating noise and the sound of something coming loose) and it is getting a lot worse.

It's fine, just a bit noisy lol
