RE: Stagecoach North East - Latest
I'm led to believe there will be a Stagecoach North East "Open Day" held at Stagecoach in Sunderland's Wheatsheaf depot next year.
The date is yet to be confirmed, but it is believed that this event will take place prior to the launch of the gas buses.
More details will be given as soon as they're known.

There is also to be an Open Day at Stagecoach on Teesside's Stockton Depot on Sunday 6th April, which is the first at the depot in Stagecoach ownership (the last being in 1985) and in part celebrates the 40th anniversary of the creation of Cleveland Transit and 20 years of Stagecoach on Teesside.

I'm on the 19 and the driver turns around and says, your my first passenger in over 1 hour... how on earth does this aervice still run half hourly?
Not just tonight, it seems to run empty most days with between 8am and 10am and 3pm and 5pm being its main peak time.
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.

Always been a bus for the pensioners.
I used to live over that way a number of years ago (pre Magic Roundabout days), and it was only ever occupied by half fares - pensioners, kids... Very rarely had full fare paying passengers.
Quite like the 8 really, though I do think there is potential for that service to be improved.

Used to do rounds with drivers that I knew when they were on 18/19s... What a dire service. Best thing about it was the amount of layover you had if you kept your foot down.
