If they offer good value for money (over their lifetime) . . .
and, presumably, readily available.

No, the ex London B7TL 6901-6934 are for specific events over the summer, no operator would buy new just for a few days work. They might be retained if any extra contract work is won which, at the moment, is generally awarded for 1 year only.

The Solo are for a number of 1-year long contracts where new buses are not really an option.

(24 May 2018, 2:43 pm)Dan wrote Yes - it was a bit of a 'bodge job' until something more permanent could be done.

The different display types are grouped together; the group which has a route number only rear display uses less memory than the one with the full size display, so that one was able to be loaded. Hanover are working with Go North East to release new firmware which essentially 'unlocks' a bit of hidden storage space on the controller, amongst other things.

5217 and 5221 fixed this afternoon.

I know this one has been sorted, but I've seen a few vehicles in odd locations recently.
One was a corporate Solo SR parked in a lay-by where Fencehouses fire station was.
Another, was a 50 branded Omni, coming from the direction of Stanley on Blind Lane, Chester.

4982 has been painted into corporate livery. Should expect other solar eclipses to follow on. It looks very good in it
