Do you know if they'll purchase some new buses for them services?

(05 Jun 2015, 8:53 pm)Dan wrote To my knowledge, there are currently three Scania N94UD/East Lancs OmniDekka vehicles at Stanley. The entry into service of 6125 (GX03 SUV) has already been established, but this vehicle has since been joined by 6127 (GX03 SVA) and 6128 (GX03 SVC). The latter two vehicles moved over from Saltmeadows Road yesterday, so should enter service soon.

Would it be possible for you to let me know which routes/boards these are on tomorrow?
(05 Jun 2015, 8:54 pm)Robert wrote Doubt it. They'll just use the current vehicles on the routes.

(05 Jun 2015, 9:07 pm)Michael wrote The 2 plain purple versa's might join the Orbit if the proposed changes go ahead (Q1 merging with 51/52) athough this depends on how much it will increase by.
The Q2 and X40/40A were planned to merge together, interworking every 20 minutes, the rest of the Quaylink Versa's should go on their (although were not sure what they will be branded as)
So:
51/52 - Gateshead - Carr Hill - Felling Square - Heworth - Leam Lane Estate - Springwell Estate - Wrekenton - Easedale Gardens - Dryden Road - Gateshead - The Sage l Gateshead College l Baltic l Quayside l Newcastle - every 15 minutes - PVR 11? - the 2 purple versa's joins as "Orbit"
Q3 - Newcastle l Quayside l Ouseburn l St Peter’s Basin - Newcastle City Centre » Gosforth High Street » Regent Centre » Great North Road » Brunton Lane » Great Park - Every 20 minutes - PVR 7 - Branded as ?????? (although this had a proposed route change at the great park, so it might change)
The 2 spare versa will remain at Riverside
(05 Jun 2015, 9:36 pm)Robert wrote I don't think the Q3 will go down to the Quayside. The Q2 is not being replaced. I would say it is highly likely that 8328 and 8329 will go onto the orbit.
(05 Jun 2015, 8:34 pm)Dan wrote Riverside-based Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse 4980 (NK54 NUM) is still presently at Saltmeadows Road for repaint into Go North East's corporate livery, though I believe it is now ready to be returned to Riverside. Both of those which are Highlighted are Branded and have entered Service at Riverside Dan.
I haven't been noting the repaints of the former "Red Kite" branded Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity vehicles, given that they were all in storage and were being repainted as and when, but 5236 (NK56 KHD), 5239 (NK56 KHG) and 5240 (NK56 KHH) have all been repainted black and should be branded as "Toon Link" soon. As soon as they are branded, they'll be ready to go out on the road! I think more or less all of these vehicles have now been repainted.

Fantastic bus. Had it from Gateshead to Newcastle (hoping for a better journey on it later), but it has an abundance of power and was quite comfortable. Brighton have lost some good buses, it would seem!

(06 Jun 2015, 8:14 am)Dan wrote Overheating is typical of all Scanias. Worst case scenario sees an engine bay fire, as has happened with a couple of GNE's L94s in the past.Think it's only been 4949 and the never delivered 4939.
Thankfully a bit cooler here up north than down south! Bet they're still better in terms of reliability than the Tridents they're replacing.
