Got a few outings in just over the next week.

Tomorrow I am probably going to get some photos of the GNE cricket shuttle services tomorrow morning. Not sure what I am going to do after that.

Howlands Rally on Sunday.

Think I am heading back to Blackpool on Tuesday.

Think I may head to Carlisle next Saturday.
RE: Bus Related Outings and Reviews
As stated in the Cumbria/North Lancs Operations thread, I'm going to be bashing (and clearing) the new Solo SRs in Carlisle tomorrow from their partial roll-out as well as getting some E200s for what may be the last time.

Change of plan:

I will now be going to Carlisle tomorrow. I will get some of the cricket shuttles leaving Durham Rail Station tomorrow morning then head up to Hexham (via Newcastle on the X21) then I plan on getting on going to Carlisle on the 1141 85/685 (arrives in Carlisle at 1256). Will probably spend 2 or 3 hours in Carlisle before making the long journey home.

Although I may change my mind again.

You are bound to end up changing your mind, knowing that both Sean and I are also in Carlisle today!

That's the thing that makes you think I'm going to change my mind, not the horrific amount of time it will take me to get to Carlisle and back or the lack of sleep I've had

I'm fairly sure my mugshot will be posted on the 'Sleepy Commuters' thread if I'm joined by anyone from the forum. Tongue

Haven't even got to Durham yet and things have already gone to pot, 7 arrived late and has stopped more than it normally would picking up passengers on this tightly timed journey and we should be in Durham Bus Station now but we stuck in horrendous traffic in Croxdale owing to the works at Sunderland Bridge

Thing that makes things worse I was planning on getting the X21 to Newcastle which is also going to get stuck in these works

Think I'll have to drop Hexham to save time and get the 0921 X12 to Newcastle then the 85/685 to Carlisle, that's if we even get to Durham before then

Looks like Dan was right about you changing your plan Tongue

Oh no I am still doing it although I have had to rip it to spreads thanks to the roadworks at Sunderland Bridge.

Waiting for the 85 now.

You do realise the 1141 85/685 will not get you in Carlisle by 1256.

1456? Maybe!

That was the time departing Hexham as I was originally getting the X85 to Hexham to get some photos there but due to being delayed I have boarded the 1045 85 from Newcastle.

Takes 2hr 10m from Newcastle - think the time Jimmi gave was from Hexham originally (which he has now abandoned due to delays - now boarding at Newcastle at 1045).

Yep.

Looking forward to the delays getting home.

Is there a X10 from Newcastle at 1800 and if so what route does it run through Peterlee and what time will it be due at Peterlee Bus Station, Peterlee Moorcock and A19 Slip Road? Sorry to ask but I have limited data so downloading the timetable would eat up a sizeable amount and I couldn't see timetables in Eldon Square.

Hope you don't get held up at Warwick Bridge.

When I was still at Uni, I used to travel to Carlisle to do research, once a week for a 3 month period, boarding in Newcastle at 09:45. It always seemed to take an age to get past Warwick Bridge and was usually late arriving in Carlisle. I don't believe I was ever there before 12.

Haven't used the service in some time, is Warwick Bridge still bad?

RE: Bus Related Outings and Reviews
No idea where Warwick Bridge is, but the 685 usually arrives into Carlisle around five minutes late and by the time it works its way around to the bus station, it's usually ten minutes late.

Warwick Road in its entirety is a killer for entering or exiting Carlisle in general. I can't recall any major traffic issues in Warwick Bridge/Warwick on Eden apart from the set of traffic lights but they're generally not bad.

Sorry if there's spelling mistakes, I'm typing this from a Solo SR and being thrown about like a ragdoll in usual fashion

I'm catching the 1507 685 back to Newcastle.

I haven't been on any Solo SR's or any other buses in Carlisle as I have zero idea where to go in Carlisle especially as I only made the decision to come here late last night so had no time to research for hours and hours like I normally do and I am not confident to jump on a bus without knowing where I'm going.

Also I have zero how you are supposed to queue in Carlisle Bus Station and everyone looks cross with me.
