At least you are all giving it a fair hearing - even before it has set foot on the TTX

(10 Aug 2015, 6:03 pm)citaro5284 wrote To be honest there can be a quite a number of faults that can go wrong with them. Each unit is basicaly a PC, and we all know what they are like when they go wrong - the kits in the Quaylinks are coming up to 5 year old (how many of us would keep a laptop that long), each unit also has the software on to run the NSA programme. Then there is a Flash Card (which can and will corrupt in time) which holds all the data. Then you have all the associated wiring from the unit to the monitor(s) and speakers (which can come loose with going over road humps etc) along with linking the unit actually into the vehicles electrical system - they are not that straight forward piece of kit.

(10 Aug 2015, 6:15 pm)BusLoverMum wrote Some of the Arriva ones have a few problems with keeping the audio and visual announcements in sync - and the accuracy of the announcements is only as good as the GPS. If that goes off, as it did on a bus I was on last week, then the NSAs stop entirely (as well as the bus disappearing off the live map)
(10 Aug 2015, 6:17 pm)Dan wrote The following Dennis MPD/Transbus Mini Pointer vehicles have been withdrawn from service (most of which are now at Saltmeadows Road awaiting disposal)

It may be worth mentioning that Peterlee Depot currently retain Deptford's "Northern" branded Dennis MPD/Transbus Mini Pointer 547 (NA52 AXN) and also Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 5161 (T811 CBW) - the higher PVR for the duration of the Millburngate Bridge roadworks can certainly account for one of these vehicles being retained until next month, as Peterlee will be covering a PVR of 13 with 14 "indiGo" branded Optare Solos.
(10 Aug 2015, 6:03 pm)Jimmi wrote Peterlee isn't a great area for this sort of thing especially with the layout of Peterlee Bus Station especially when you are swapping buses around in the case of today.
There is the worry that if a event marketed to enthusiasts it would be mistreated, there apparently was a few messing around at the Quaylink launch last Monday.
What happened was two chavs went up to some of us asking what we were doing etc. Then later we had bus ******* shouted at us, although some of us had left by this point and some may not have been paying attention. Not the biggest fan of Peterlee especially the Bus Station.

It did get a window put out, hence why it has gone straight into the paintshop once the window was repaired as it was not due to go in just yet.

If i put all of the windows out on the other branded vehicles, will they all get repainted too? Would certainly speed up the process...

(10 Aug 2015, 9:07 pm)Dan wrote Yes - the window was put out by our friends in Stanley a week after entering service. Surprised it hasn't been sorted yet.
There's another with missing branding on the nearside which is more recent - 5400 if I remember rightly - towards the back of the bus.
(10 Aug 2015, 9:11 pm)S813 FVK wrote Haven't seen 5400 for a few weeks (mainly because i am only ever out of the house 2-3 days each week) so the chances of me seeing it is quite slim.
