(22 Aug 2015, 7:10 pm)South Tyne Lad wrote Because of the new Optare Solos at Peterlee, Transbus MPD 560 has transferred over to Hexham aswell as Alexander Dennis MPD 618 and 619 from Peterlee and Scania L94UB Wright Solar 4966 from Riverside which im sure will go down a treat at Hexham. This should definitely be enough.
(22 Aug 2015, 7:54 pm)NK53 TKT wrote I thought they moved for scholars...
I would like a ride on either 618 and 619. Will they become branded?
(22 Aug 2015, 8:25 pm)NK53 TKT wrote Oh so they might be branded. Thanks
(22 Aug 2015, 8:34 pm)NK53 TKT wrote So do you know if 618 has URBAN 90 seats then?

Thanks for the sad news
(22 Aug 2015, 8:46 pm)R852 PRG wrote A lot of scholars services operate in various areas because they can use it to interwork with other routes. For example, Chester-le-Street operate some scholars services in the Washington area. Although I think they run off other scholars services as opposed to mainstream routes. I'm not sure, I no longer use the scholars services at my school.
(22 Aug 2015, 8:50 pm)NK53 TKT wrote So it probably just inter works with the 17 then.

(22 Aug 2015, 9:14 pm)R852 PRG wrote Chances are it may just go for scrap. Although the fates of withdrawn vehicles is unpredictable. I wasn't expecting to be told that 4854 had gone to the Tyne & Wear Fire Service to be used as a fire practice vehicle!
(22 Aug 2015, 3:16 pm)NK53 TKT wrote Does anyone have a clue if the new 74 timetable has made any changes to reliability because on Friday nights the 16:08 from Hexham has arrived into Newcastle with me on before 18 minutes late. They chose to change earlier buses instead
(23 Aug 2015, 7:13 am)Text wrote The change to the timetable was to allow the bus being used to take up an extra run on 687 Corbridge - Hexham. this in turn comes off a 686 (as it did previously)Thanks that does happen
GNE therefore changed the times to allow extra time for the bus to get it back to Hexham to take up a run on the 74.
Delays can occur anywhere whether it be on the 686 at Wylam where the bus often has to wait several minutes for a train, or, the ongoing works at Cowgate and build of traffic on the Central Motorway can cause the bus to lose time especially on a Friday.
(23 Aug 2015, 10:27 am)NK53 TKT wrote Why does the 74 not just do 74A route between Cowgate and Ponteland?
(23 Aug 2015, 10:34 am)South Tyne Lad wrote On weekdays, Stagecoach's X78 service run every 30 minutes with extras provided in the form of the X77 which I believe does a slightly different route round Darras Hall to the X78 and the X79 serves Northumbria Polices headquarters at Kirkly Hall instead of Darras Hall 2x a day so Stagecoach have the full market share.
Though on Sundays, there's only 1 X78 every 2 hours so it makes sense to run the same route on that day to run the same route and nick a few passengers from Stagecoach that would normally use Stagecoach on the Weekdays
(23 Aug 2015, 10:35 am)NK53 TKT wrote I just don't get why they don't go to the terminal door
(23 Aug 2015, 10:40 am)South Tyne Lad wrote That confuses me as I could Imagine Stagecoach getting a few passengers from Newcastle Airport
the 74A already goes to Newcastle Airport
