Tyne and Wear Metro

RE: Tyne and Wear Metro
On 4009 at the moment, and the old buzzer sound for doors closing is now in use again, in addition to the new buzzer sound.

Will add a recording when I get home as the mobile version of the forum still doesn't allow for attachments to be added.

Well I was on 4009 but it has developed an electrical fault so has had to be withdrawn from service - smells like a school Chemistry experiment gone wrong!

4018 was the other Metrocar paired to it.

We got turfed at Brockley Whins, so just East Boldon and Seaburn before my stop. Apparently smoke was bellowing into the other Metrocar?

The new style of "doors closing" sounds was increasing the time it took to get moving after each stop though, resulting in a delay of about 10 minutes, so the next Metro was only at the station behind us.

Took double the time it usually takes to get home tonight. Happens every time I make the mistake of not sticking to my 7am - 3pm shift...

Dan lucky to get home...

Jesus, honestly proper shit service.

Nexus, which manages the Tyne and Wear Metro, said there were no servcices between Heworth and Hebburn/Brockley Whins due to a failed train at around 5.50pm
A spokesman for Nexus said that Go North East was accepting Metro tickets on bus services five, nine and 27.

Why the 9 though, it doesn't service anywhere between those area's i think...

Go North East has been asked to provide three vehicles for a Metro Replacement until end of play.

How long does it normally take to set up that?

Metro should have their own buses to send out if this happens, i'm sure that's been said before.

That's a good idea. Get a load of vehicles leased and pay for them doing nowt until something breaks.

I'm guessing Metro drivers would need PCV trained too?

Tongue, well its just a suggestion but it would help a lot although GNE get money for providing the replacement buses, i'm sure that money could be better used......

Do you reckon the amount bus operators get paid is anywhere near a cost of a fleet of buses, back to my previous comment
