Travelled on the 11xx's on the 95 at Whitby when on holiday there the last couple of years, and yes they are quite smart. I know they've had refurbs, but they seem better 'screwed together' than some of the later darts at Blyth.

If this is happening, it won't be all three at once. Likely situation will be one of 1102/4/5 will be loaned to Blyth to enable the MPDs to go off for Repaints one at a time. Redcar of course currently only require the ALXs as spares

1790 has/had a defective front destination display.

There's no point fixing it now, as there isn't long left before the 115 finishes, and the problem is unique to the 01150001 and 01150002 screens.

EDIT: Plus there's no point fixing it now as they were fixed anyway after I saw the problem back on the 15th January Wink

Continuing the destinations topic, it's about time something is done with Arrivas. Yes, they are mostly all uniform but they look dated. That font on the lower line shown above is awful. The best one I've seen is a Mobitec display on Transdev Keighley Streetlites. The destination point is shown as a full screen image with the route number, this then scrolls upwards to become a smaller font with the via points then scrolling up underneath it. Plus they are white which just makes it better anyway!

There's nothing wrong with the style used by Arriva. They don't look dated at all.

No one destinations are worse than stagecoach. Some of the routes hardley habe via points and instead of using '-' they use a comma. Just doesnt look right.

Some of arrivas habe too many via points
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2016
Don't really think you can do too much with a destination display?!

Arriva's are simple, which is exactly what you want isn't it?

You should see the ones Stagecoach Manchester have where there is just large gaps between destinations on the via points, no commas or anything just a reasonably sized gap between destinations.

There isn't really a right or wrong way to how most destinations are set out, it's just some of us have differences in opinion of what a display set up should be. So long as it's clearly stating the main destination, it's not really a problem.

I've noticed some of the Carlisle area services are now using a '-' to separate points, and are also using the thicker text. That only appears to have happened more recently though.

I personally prefer that style, and its almost identical what GNE do with their destinations. I'm not sure how it works from division to division, but hopefully the North East follow suit.

It's not a capital, it's lower case but looks like a upper case because of the font used. The simple fact is this - the current format is here to stay because it is the Commerical Team that does the destination displays and that is their preferred style. Also a lot more informative than other diversions I could mention *cough*North West*cough*

The driver gave you the registrations? Can only assume those as 1760, 1769 and 1791 off the top of my head.
