(16 Feb 2016, 9:40 am)S813 FVK wrote Isn't it just. I guess the hill you are on about is just at the T-junction where the 15A turns off to go to Delves Lane? From what i remember, that is a reasonably steep bank. The worst bank that I was on it for the other say was South Moor and it seemed to struggle up that.

How long has the Venture Solo SR's had next stop announcements for the 689? When I rode the service a few weeks back it just showed Venture on the screen.

The good news is I got the PCL Travel Dart and the Nexus Solo SR on the 682.
The bad news, the Solo on loan to Go North East was nowhere to be seen. I must now be about the only person without a photo of that with Go North East and knowing my luck I probably won't ever get one. Grrr!!!

(16 Feb 2016, 4:43 pm)Dan wrote The Next Stop Announcements have been programmed for the 689 service since these vehicles were launched.
Sometimes the bus loses its GPS coordinates, and just shows a default 'Venture 689 Hexham to Consett' screen. It also displays this in between stops, and as the 689 service is hail and ride for a considerable section of the route, it regularly displays this. In future, it will display advertising of the company's key card, mobile app, etc, so that the screens are better utilised.
Still plenty of time to get a photograph of it.
It spends most of its time on the 185/681/X81 cycle, so your only chance to see it in Hexham is 08:05 or 18:05.
Go North East carry out PSV tests at Deptford and Riverside on Thursdays, where there are dedicated pits for the traffic commissioner. The bus is usually kept off the road at the 'home depot' from Monday, to prepare the bus for its PSV test.
