RE: Whats made you happy today?
Coach operator honours its oldest passenger

A remarkable man who is still taking monthly coach trips at the grand old age of 104, has had a National Express coach named after him.

Only put it here because we don't have a dedicated thread to National express, due to contracts being done by all the different companies.

That's good news.

Have finally found a plumber willing to take on our slow leak and Husband has finally"discovered" the riftvi our roof that I tried to tell him about, several months ago.

Well get it all fixed then the house will disappear into a sinkhole, of course.

Result Re: my complaint against the GNE driver I made the other week. There's a software issue with the ticket machines which is being looked into and for the inconvenience, they've slapped two all zone tickets on my card.

Me and the enemy had a visit from our landlord today and he has agreed to break our tenancy early...

He was nice as ninepence, despite the trouble and stress him and the letting agent causing us undue hassle...

We are on the verge of signing and agreement with a housing association called livin on a place in Shildon...Not ideal, but anywhere is better than the current shithole we live in and I can hopefully start dealig with my current bout of depression and emotional problems

A change is as good as a rest.

Of course. Would be harder to see your mam lots but that would be easier if you had afresh start with better living conditions.

And it would give the landlord more time to fix problems. It's taken us years and we still haven't isolated a single cause of our damp problems. It's onei issue after another.

Ready to nuke the place, tbh. Glad it's paid for.

Get the keys for my new kip in Shildon on Wednesday...Cant wait to get away from the shithole I am currently in...

My current landlord has more faces than Big Ben, he promised us the world back in August, was told he wanted rid of us in October and on Friday he lied to my face when he said the Letting Agent has never informed him of problems we complained about, he has took us for mugs for 3 months and getting away from it is the best way to deal with our problems

Whilst I totally understand fleet disposition and whether an odd working is an odd working or not, floats the boat of some, I am glad to see the forum get back to discussion on a range of other topics today and see some opinion and debate. Even Spearmint Dick got a mention.

I have quite enjoyed it!

Will have to throw a housewarming Wink

Leaky pipe blew spectacularly, today. Now have a ripped up kitchen floor. Insurance comapy are pulling faces, even though it took us forever to even find the under floor leak that was causing so much damp (e'd already fixed the leaky window, which was affecting the same spot) We didn't just have one leaky pipe, we had 2.
RE: Whats made you happy today?
So, who should be driving the Q3 this morning? The same guy I complained about the other week. Felt a bit smug when he let me on without arguing the toss with me this time.

It's been a slog finding a place where I think he'll fit and be happy. He needs specialist provision, but has needs not compatible with other kids who need similar provision. I basically had to rule out anywhere where the emphasis was on low key, quiet and low stimulus because he is far from quiet! (As anyone who has met us out and about would know!)

Glad he has the support he needs, sounds like a good school. Smile

I'm used to having no silence at work, try having 20+ 2-5 year olds haha

He is utterly oblivious to it.

The transition process will be a long one!

Terrifying. I'd be scared of stepping on them.

Congratulations Smile. Is this for work-experience or is it a full-time position? Either way, well done. Just don't do anything too drastic with the route branding.....  Tongue

Thank you, it is appreciated Smile Its just work experience at the minute but I would hope that having experience at the company could allow me to develop it into a full time position post-Sixth Form since I have no intention of going to University.

I will certainly be preparing a list of suggestions that I could put forward - whether they would necessarily put any thought into them is another matter Tongue

Very well done. What will your job actually involve then as I guess there are loads of aspects to marketing.

Thank you. I have no idea what it will involve yet but I will need to py them a visit anyway to get the necessary forms filled out although I should be pretty comfortable with whatever is thrown at me given that I have done and I am doing marketing based units at school now.
