I'm off to light a candle for the users of the Ten.

What about blind or visually impaired bus users? Do they look out the window or ask the driver? The ignorance towards the benefits of NSA technology never ceases to amaze me.

Not to mention that this is a commercial organisation wanting to reach out to those users, without having legislation stuffed in their face first!

Don't want to put this in the wrong forum but what if an order has been placed for new vehicles? Surely it would make more sense for the bod behind the NSA's for the TEN to concentrate on the new systems used rather than the TFT screens and instead, make sure that the new vehicles are correct.

Even though it would be 10 months by the time vehicles would be delivered (if any), it would be pointless on the bod concentrating on a new NSA design for the TFTs only to then create a whole new system, design and layout whilst other service changes have required more attention.

Yeah I wonder how on earth the blind and visually impaired are coping. Often clueless on where the bus is, and just having to pray the driver remembers to shout their stop out.

(18 Mar 2017, 9:55 pm)Andreos1 wrote To get to Peterlee from Easington Lane, there's the country roads that work towards Shotton, or the way the X35 (which has seen decker allocations) goes towards Easington Village, down the A182. The A19 has a junction with the A182 at Easington Village - and this is where I would have thought the decker would have joined the A19.

The only low-bridge down there, was at South Hetton (Plesspool) and before it was demolished, had a high enough clearance for deckers to get under.
Bus may have broken down facing South and was easier for the recovery driver to tow it out of the area to the South rather then cause major disruption by trying to get around the roundabout at Easington Lane.

Yeah, that's what I guessed when STL said he spotted it at South Hetton.

It's the Peterlee thing that puzzled me.

I was mistaken, I meant the junction at Hall Walks where the A182 has a junction with the A19 heading North, I thought it was on the outskirts of Peterlee but is actually Easington Village upon checking!

Another thing I forgot to note was the said B9TL which broke down was 6003.

Does anyone which order the 13/14 and X25 will interwork?

On 5214: "Go North East will introduce an improved 30-minute frequency to service 13 on Monday to Saturday daytimes, and it will interwork with services 14 and X25"

It's only really the morning/evening peak-time journeys on service 14 which will interwork with the X25. During the day, it's service 13 which will interwork with service X25.

The main off-peak daytime journeys on service 14 will interwork with service X22, but at peak times, these will also interwork with service 13.

An example running board for the new 13/14/X25 interworking pattern is as follows:
- 07:47 #14 (Langley Park - Durham), arr 08:28
- 08:33 #13 (Durham - Langley Park), arr 08:59
- 09:04 #X25 (Langley Park - Newcastle), arr 10:18
- 10:25 #X25 (Newcastle - Langley Park), arr 11:34
- 11:39 #13 (Langley Park - Durham), arr 12:01
- 12:03 #13 (Durham - Langley Park), arr 12:29
- 12:34 #X25 (Langley Park - Newcastle), arr 13:48
- 13:55 #X25 (Newcastle - Langley Park), arr 15:04

It was VOR from the start of January to the start of February, as it required an engine overhaul.

It was sent to Volvo on Crowther Industrial Estate in Washington on 02/02/2017, and deemed uneconomical to repair about a week later. It has been at Saltmeadows Road in storage whilst awaiting disposal since 13/02/2017.

That's kind of rude don't you think?

After all, you reply to things people ask of you.

(19 Mar 2017, 6:32 pm)Jamie M wrote I would not classify this as rudeness.

It's kinda like the phone ringing situation, too. If somebody calls you during a stressful time etc and you do not want to respond, the polite thing to do is simply to not reply at all, as it's common knowledge that this is an indication that the party is somewhat busy or not near the telephone to know about it. What would be rude is if the party picked up and on vulgar terms told them to "go away" and slammed the phone down. This clearly isn't the case here

Thanks for clarifying. Sometime when people ring me at an inconvenient time, I pick the phone up and slam it back down without saying anything. I guess that makes me kid of rude albeit not the kind of rude which verges on vulgarity.

Saw a 42A today and it looked like the scrolling destinations were in the wrong order as the destination to Kingston Park looked to start with ''via Newcastle Airport'' - could have been wrong though?

Drivers are supposed to display on the north shields to dinnington part of the route 'dinnington for kingston park' then change at dinnington to kingston park via newcastle airport.
