What' "Max" about the 23?

Best case is that the 22, 23 and 24 are marketed equally to complement each other, as they do, anyhow.

Edit: and ye'll tek wor naice buses off of wor ower wor deed bodies, like! (need more wine)

Debranding two gives flexibility in which ones you can allocate elsewhere.
As nice as it would be to transfer them elsewhere I can't see it happening.

They were supposed to be debranding 1558 and 1559 but as they had got onto the fourth one when it was discovered, there had to be a change of plan!

Stocktons 1452 is away for repaint. Could this be the start of the new livery in the north east?

Maybe starting on Frequenta 27. Will be interesting to see which Frequenta livery is used though.

Pretty sure it's been asked before, but I can't seem to find it - Does anyone know which X20 runs are scheduled to be Omni operated?

"Near Field Communication" so I assume in this context it means contactless payment.

Different every day. The 0819 X20 Ashington-Alnwick on Saturdays is OmniCity ran, if that helps.

Btw the two E400s without the rear ads are 7527/8.

Cheers. Should be getting the 12:33 from Newcastle in a few weeks and want a MAX B7 as I've not had one yet.

Seems logical to send two from one end of the batch rather than a random two in the middle like.

From experience of using the x20 5 days a week the boards that start southbound from Hadston at 05:53 and northbound from Ashington bus station at 06:04 appear to pretty much always allocated to the Omnicities if everything's working as it should.

It's actually called EMV on the ticket machines. When it works its so easy to use! However with it being new when it has problems it causes hell!

Anyone want to hazard a guess what EMV stands for? WITHOUT GOOGLEING IT!

Electromotive venison?

Wondering if the system that arrive adopt will be anything like transdev's on the 36, which means that if you don't let the driver know before they issue the ticket that you're using contactless, they end up having to reissue the whole ticket!

Venison? That would be far too dear

Just seen on the Arriva Enthusiasts Facebook page that the 308 Hybrids once completed into MAX branded will be kept out at night to operate the X10 / X11.

Don't know if this is true or not.

Do you mean like a night bus service?

I assume he means the evening X10/X11s will be operated by the B5LHs, presumably down to fuel economy if true.
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2017
Ive heard a RUMOUR that in Darlo, the gas busses will potentially be moved to the 1/5/5A/19/12 with the 2 gaining pulsars and the X21 getting pulsars which will become MAX/Express. I reiterate this is rumour. Could there be any truth in this?

I've heard the same too. I also heard that it was going too be in the Summer at the the time the X22 Peterlee - Middlesborough supposedly goes MAX. Also I heard the said X22 is to be extended too Sunlderland. But it all can be just pie in the Sky and a total load of tosh.

I'm not a driver, but speaking to drivers and speaking from experience if the 1/5/5A/12/19 did become Gas bus operated then it would be a dream, the driver I know and speak to had both 4809 and 4810 on the 1/5/5a/12/19 today, 4809 for the first part and 4810 for the second part and he loved every minute of it, they are much more suited to out of town routes than in town

You know what it is, although it would probably never happen, do you think Arriva could run a viable night service on the following:

- N38 serving normal 308 route but including Battle Hill Drive
- NX11 serving 43 route to Cramlington then X11 route from there to Blyth

Not exactly late as such? Maybe the following services could operate on Fridays / Saturdays):

Board 1:
308 Blyth / Newcastle (23:09/00:05)
N38 Newcastle / Blyth (00:15/01:12)

Board 2:
N38 Blyth / Newcastle (00:09/01:07)
N38 Newcastle / Blyth (01:15/02:12)

Board 3:
X10 Blyth / Newcastle (23:10/00:02)
NX11 Newcastle / Blyth (00:15/01:16)

Board 4:
NX11 Blyth / Newcastle (00:07/01:08)
NX11 Newcastle / Blyth (01:15/02:16)

That was before the major accident that happened which has cost Arriva quite a lot of money

Nobody uses the late night services. The 2045 Ashington-Newcastle X22 was empty when I saw it arrive in Newcastle, and only picked up a few punters heading back, then one person for the Bedlington short. I can't see Blyth, with more services running at this time (which were dead too), getting services past midnight.
