The fact GNE have a Mercedes Sprinter on trial suggests to me they have won at least the 643.

Could be, i would like to see Go North East win the 37/73 again, as it means i can use my smartzone pass on it.

I think Go North East will keep the 88, as for the rest independent companies.

Going off topic but couldn't they just merge the 37/73, so the route would be: Doxford Park – Herrington Burn – Washington – Coach Road - Concord - Castletown - Sunderland

180 minutes - Hourly - PVR 3

(28 Mar 2017, 6:50 pm)Michael wrote Oh cool, be weird seeing "Go North East" run around Barnes etc... i wonder if Stagecoach will decide to run it commercially or part-commercial, be interesting to see what happens.

The 8, will probables be a Solo, if Stagecoach decide not to run it commercially or part-commercial.

(29 Mar 2017, 5:04 am)Michael wrote The only time the Go North East 8 will cross routes with the contract 8 is on Green Terrence and on Chester road when it's the 8A, which is only a few times, however one of the problems could be that people can't use their Stagecoach Megarider's on the 8 when Go North East start to run it... hopefully they can.

Stagecoach might even decide to run it part commercial or fully commercial yet.

It was quite strange seeing a Go North East bus in South Hylton today.

Stagecoach's tickets aren't valid on the service, but equally, Go North East's tickets weren't valid on Stagecoach's evening/Sunday 8 service in The Docks area when they previously held the contract.

There was always going to be a 'loser' in this situation - whether it be the residents of South Hylton or the residents of The Docks - if the customer doesn't opt for a 'SmartZone' ticket allowing travel on all operators' buses in the city.

They have.

Go North East has lost around 20 Misc Works, awarded a further 5. I think Gateshead Central Taxis have lost a couple, too. Kingsley's and JH Coaches have picked up the most contracts - around 17 each, if I remember rightly.
