(08 Dec 2017, 7:42 pm)mb134 wrote GNE have been solidly Wright for a number of years now with the bulk of their orders - chances of them going ADL are slim. I think the Angel would have been the time they made the switch, if they were ever going to, after the many issues with the initial batch of Streetdecks.
(08 Dec 2017, 8:20 pm)L469 YVK wrote In fact, if GNE and some other operators (First, Arriva) wanted to stick with Wrightbus but weren't happy about the lack of suitable buses for some of the routes, Wrightbus might even offer an 'endurance' version of the StreetDeck / StreetLite with a Cummins 6.7l / ZF combo in addition to the current offerings.
(08 Dec 2017, 8:20 pm)L469 YVK wrote Although the Streetdecks have shown some problems on the X21, they should be more than suitable for the 21 given that the B5LH's haven't done too badly on there and are even getting cascaded to the Coaster.
Big difference between the X21 and the 21 is that the 21 is basically a stop start route particularly between Chester-Le-Street and Newcastle whereas the X21 has a section of Motorway / Dual Carriageway to contend with as well as an extra 10-12 mile also with some fast sections of road.
Whether GNE stick with Wrightbus depends on how the B5TLs perform on the X9/X10. If they perform to the same if not a better standard than the B9TLs did on there, then there would be no reason for GNE to switch to ADL whatsoever.

(08 Dec 2017, 5:43 am)Dan wrote Whilst this would be a good cascade plan and great for customers; the L94s on Loop, Highwayman and Black Cats are tied down to the areas they operate in at the moment, until 2019, as they were fitted with council-funded SCRT systems.
I think Durham were a little happier for the buses they funded with SCRT systems to be cascaded earlier (i.e. those on Fast Cats X35) as they were being replaced by younger, more reliable buses which were still fuel-efficient and Euro 5.
Had Gateshead and Sunderland been equally as happy, I think we'd have seen cascades long before now.

5234 - 5241 on the X30/X31
5249, 5250 as spares.
5253 moves from Stanley

With this in mind, there would be 5 Omnicitys left over, these could be used on the other Toon Link services with only enough B9TLs to replace the Omnidekkas joining the brand?
(10 Dec 2017, 12:04 pm)Tom wrote So they go on the 6/X70/X71, leaving 5234-39 on the X30/X31?
Then, including the ones at Percy Main, there is 5240-42, 5250-5254, and 5261-74 Omnicities to allocate, which is 22. I would like to say Blue Arrow and 35, with a couple going to Washington for the 5/50. However, I don't know if they would want to have Omnicities at Deptford? Only other way around it would be to allocate Solars to the 35, under the Black Cats brand, but that is a massive downgrade.

Will brand for crusader change?

I that's the case I would guess the Omnicities will just stay at Percy Main (11/19) and a couple to Washington.
