There was one parked up at Saltmeadows earlier. Looked poised to be driven away.
Was blinded up for Chester.

Service 61 unable to serve the estates at Murton due to a serious Police Incident. This service will terminate at Dalton Park.

Wonder what's happened?

My question is how long will 6070 last in the Night Angel scheme and will it be back in service in that livery after its visit to Volvo Washington where it has been hiding from me this week.

Nothing available to properly replace it at Washington yet if it is indeed due to move elsewhere. Wouldn't be surprised if 5324 ends up heading back there too.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - December 2017
Just to pick up on a couple of things.

5338 doesn't have headrests. I would have thought the refurb would have been the ideal opportunity to get it sorted, rather than cover the existing seats.
Granted it's a little older than the native examples, but surely a standard spec would go down well?
It goes like a stink, but the glitch with interior lighting was noticeable. The offside lighting kept switching itself off.

One of the new 21's had issues in Eldon Square earlier, with passengers transferred to one behind. The one behind was a Chester run, so it left a gap of an hour for those wanting to get to Durham.
I believe it/or another dropped in at Durham to return to Newcastle.

On a B5 hybrid tonight and the damp patch/condensation on the upper saloon roof was pretty minging. Apart from the discolouring, I can't imagine getting 'dropped' on is too pleasant.
I would hope an internal inspection uncovers the issue.

Few photos below.

Aside from the obvious cost impact it would have had to renew all of the seats and change the seating layout, I don't think it was needed? I personally think that the seats in 5337 and 5338 are more comfortable than Go North East's standard seating in Mercedes Citaros. They're a bit wider.

Cosmetically they look a little strange with the new leather - the shape of the seats means that the fabric has to stretch over - but I don't think many passengers would notice that.

Received the "35 million miles" tagline yesterday, for anyone keeping tabs on that.

It is planned to return to service at Washington on Monday.

Sits really well on the Gemini, in my opinion. Pity about the advert frames which will cover much of the branding at the top, but I'm led to believe that only half of them are planned to receive the frames (like Red Arrows).

Nice to see the green credentials being pushed too. The 'ELECTRIC HYBRID' above the brand name is subtle but works, and the design of the leaf with the electric bolt inside of it is a really clever idea. It seems to be a common theme around the Go-Ahead Group, with Brighton & Hove's latest batch of StreetDecks featuring the tagline above the upper-deck windows "low-emission bus" and Oxford Bus Company heavily promoting the Hybrids in their various brands.

They should be done in time for them entering service at Percy Main, yes.

The speakers are all being repaired while at Saltmeadows Road for repaint and branding too, following feedback from customers that a number aren't working.

5306 sent for refurbishment on 12/12/2017 (following delivery of 5338), and 5308 sent for refurbishment yesterday (following delivery of 5324).

5309 will be the last example sent for refurbishment next week, when the next example returns.

It has better specs than the ones on the current Connections 4 Citaro's though Tongue

(01 Dec 2017, 4:26 pm)S813 FVK wrote I'm guessing its 642 from the news, but the Solo SR on the T1/T2 today did not have Venture branding.

Something I have also noticed is that 6127 and 6138 have both had their side destinations lowered to the bottom half of the window as per 6141 and 6142. Is this planned for all other Omnidekkas or just those 2 for whatever reason?

642 branded 08/12/2017 and news updated accordingly.

The side destinations on 6141/42 were lowered a while back following driver feedback to Washington Depot's union, which was that the larger destination can provide a blackspot for the driver's view when turning corners.

Following the transfer of the pair to Stanley, drivers there voiced their preference of the destination placement on 6141/42 to the rest of the batch, so work is underway to move the display on all of Stanley's examples too.

Think you're the first to suggest that they've gone quickly!

The programme started at the very start of January, so it's taken a year to refurbish all 64 Mercedes Citaros.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - December 2017
5251 will also go on Fleet Livery on Monday, the same as 5252.

I tell a lie - start of February - following the entry into service of the first few Streetlites on the 49.

Either way quite a long time! Agree that the year has gone over quite quickly though.
